A few months ago we lost electrical power here and we were without power for a long time. And because of that, we started washing laundry by hand and drying them outside on a line. And we noticed positive things that came about because of that.

Naturally Disinfects - Drying laundry in the sun is a great way to disinfect sheets, towels, and clothing especially whites because ultraviolet rays kill bacteria, viruses, and other agents that cause disease. Thus the whole family stays healthier with fewer colds, flu, and viral infections.

Easy on Fabrics - Drying clothing on the line makes clothing last longer because there is less stress placed on zippers, the fabric itself, snaps, and sheer fabrics that needs gentle care. The high heat of a dryer is hard on fabrics and shortens their lifespan.

Everything Smells Better - Drying clothing outside makes clothing smell better without artificial perfumes and other cancer-causing agents. We noticed this right away, everything just smells fresh, clean, and full of life-giving qualities.

No Allergic Reactions - Instead of adding perfumes and other allergy-causing chemicals hang laundry on the line… and they will smell great without adding anything.

Naturally Get Rid of Strong Smells - With dry some smells still persist… not so with hanging laundry on outside… all smells disappear. — REALLY!

Great Way to Get Rid of Stains - Placing clothing, tablecloths, or sheets and placing them in the sun does a great job of whiting and getting rid of stains without bleach and other cancer-causing chemicals.

Get a Little More Exercise - Just a little more physical activity helps to burn more calories so you can lose weight… it all adds up.

Gets a Person Outside in the Sun - Getting out in the sun is important for good mental health and for creating more melatonin so you can sleep better… it just takes 10 minutes to hang our clothes and that’s a good start.

Takes Very Little Time - I have found it only takes 10 minutes to hang up an average load of laundry… and that’s not much time at all.

Natural Way to Remove Wrinkles - Instead of using dryer sheets that are full of poisons that cause cancer… hanging clothing outside allows wrinkles to come out naturally. My mother said, “In the old days we would hang our laundry up and then get them wet and allow them to drip dry… and all the wrinkles would disappear, and we would hope for rain because the soft water would soften our clothes naturally”.

A Zen Moment - Good for Mental Health - Hanging the laundry can be a peaceful time where a person is connected to what one is doing and nothing else. This can calm the mind and create a little bit of peacefulness every single day. With stress as the number one killer in the world anytime we can take a break it’s a good thing.

Save Money - This is a huge plus, think about the average dryer… using it every day adds hundreds of dollars to the monthly budget. Hanging laundry outside can save money.

Environmentally Friendly - Hanging laundry outside helps the environment by using fewer fossil fuels and thus a person is helping the planet. With global warming, this is super important… and we all need to do our part to make a difference.

No Fire Risk - Driers are well known for catching on fire and with drying clothing outside that is not a problem at all.

Just Seems Right - All I can say is… it just seems right to hang laundry outside and feels good in general. And it seems natural working with the planet instead of against the planet… and helps us to stay healthy at the same time.

I found some great stainless steel cloths pins on Amazon that I love, they will last a lifetime. Much better than the old wooden clothespins with a spring that always come apart.

For me, this is the best way to go… hanging laundry outside or inside… it’s important for our health and well being. In Europe and other places around the world, this is a no-brainer… they’ve been drying their laundry outside for thousands of years and will continue to do so for thousands more.

Many Blessings to Everyone!
