Having written my fare share of sales copy for Internet web marketing campaigns that we here have done I feel like I have the knowledge to share that with you. We will discuss 6 tips that you need to know about writing headlines and sub headlines that actually convince prospects to continue reading your sales letter. If you follow the steps below this way of writing should convince people to "Be persuaded by" anything you say. Let's be honest, people do business with people they Know, Like and Trust the most. Let's get started with headline building to build up rapport and increase your sales.
Tip #1: Use a "character" in your headline to relate to your prospects.
That makes your sales copy more interesting to read and in many cases, it relates better to your prospects. Here is an example below:
"Discover How A 24 Year Old Student Makes Three Times More Money working 4 hours per week Than His College Professor.
This title is best targeted at adolescents and young at heart who want to know how to make money online. Below is another example of what I'm talking about:
Tom MaCall Says 'The Appliance Repair Field Is So Uncrowded It's Almost Lonely'
This headline is targeted to people who want to get into the appliance repair field, which as Tom states is pretty lonely meaning that the competition is low and that your prospects should keep reading for more details on why it is so lonely.
Depending on the nature of your product or service, the more you can relate it to the majority of your prospects, the greater the risk that you can connect your readers to read your sales letter, and then hopefully buy from you.
Tip #2: Your headline must state one main benefit that your product or service has to offer.
And the benefit should often refer to your prospect, not you or others. Even if you use another character in the headline text, make absolutely sure that it ultimately has to do with your views and why or how it could benefit your potential clients.
Tip #3: Use a larger Font size for your headline than the font size for your sales letter.
Purpose of your headline is to capture your prospect's attention to read and to qualify them. It important for your headline to stand out from the rest of your sales letter font because it draws their eyes to the headline first, which is what you want it to do. Usually, the headline font 1 or 2 times larger than the default font of your sales letter to make it stand out.
Tip #4: Use a bright color like "Red" for your headline text.
Using the Color "red" symbolizes urgency or importance. Alternatively, you can use "black" or text "highlighted in yellow in the background" as "red" does not fit your sales copy the color theme.
However, it is advisable to use "red" as the color of your headline text plus this color can be used with almost any theme colors you have on your website.
Tip #5: Use a sub headline as a hook to make your readers continue to read.
The sub headline usually gives more benefits to the reader and acts as the last ditch effort to convince the reader to continue reading the sales letter below. The sub headline is generally less than the headline in font size (by 1), and often differently colored, as well. Black is a fitting color for the sub headline.
Tip #6: Use a "List" for your headline.
People love lists, and as well love to know that it is going to take only so many steps to complete this task or to get the benefits that they seek. See the examples below:
"167 New Ways’ To A Man's Heart - In this Fascinating Book For Cooks!"
You know that it is only going to take 167 ways to get to a man's heart, we all know that may be more of less but the headline stated that there is 167 ways. Here is another example to illustrate what I mean:
"37 Fun And Easy Ways To Earn $500 Next Weekend"
Now that sounds fun and profitable and there are only 37 ways and it also gives me the outcome that being the $500.
Use the above six steps to craft your own headline and sell more products, but just remembers these are just suggestions not standards.
