A quick glance at the world divorce records show that the current marriages in developed countries are nothing but a one day renewable contract. This means that one partner can withdraw at will anytime they feel like.

In most developing Countries, it’s rare to meet any divorced individual for because of the following three main reasons:

1.) Marriages are taken seriously with a lot of commitment. This means that at the time of marriage, both partners are made aware of their responsibilities which they must fulfill.

2.) There exists traditions and rituals that precede marriages; both partners understand that repercussions of failed marriage are difficult to deal with.

3.) In case of troubled marriages, both families are involved and this is always the best way to fix such marriages.

4.) The responsibilities of the a man as the head of household is fully recognized by both partners and this is justified when a man takes a token to the wife’s parents as away of appreciating their effort in bringing up their daughter.

5.) The laws in these Countries also recognize that the man is the head of the house hold and the women learn this in School and they also learn it from their Grand mothers. The women are also made aware of the repercussions of disrespecting their husbands. The environment in which they are brought up also models them to be better waves.

Marriages in developed Countries are just a total mess. This is because most people enter such relationships with no clear purpose in life. Since some people come from broken families, they believe that marriages are bound to fail at one point in life.

I was surprised one time at H & R blocks when one couple could not agree on who was the head of their household and both had to part ways and do their taxes at different locations. Even in the Bible, it’s clearly written that a man is the head of a house hold.

The laws in most developed countries tend to favor women in case of dispute or divorce and often the women are entitled to the custody of all the kids. Because of these flops in laws, women find it easy to disrespect their husbands and walk way from marriages.

Just by comparing marriages in few countries in the world in 2002, Divorce rate in Sweden was 54.9%, Finland 51.2% and United States 45.8%. In developing countries, Guatemala had a divorce rate of 0.13%, Libya 0.24% and India 1.1 %.

Most couples misinterpret what equality means in households. Because of this misinterpretation, most women believe that their husbands have no right to tell them what to do since they are equal. If a man does this, then they say their husbands are controlling. This is often the beginning of trouble in marriages.

Men are known to make some tough decisions for the family that most women may find hard to take. This explains why few kids brought up by single mom’s are successful in the United States which has high divorce rates.

Keenly examining these figures and the laws of these Countries, it’s very important that the world should harmonize the laws of these Countries to save the marriages that are yet to end in divorce.
