There are several common myths that affect male sexuality, most noticeably people say that size matters, but does it really?

Does size matter?

There have actually been quite a few intensive studies been carried out to look into whether the size of a man’s penis actually affects sex or not. These studies have suggested that although men with larger penises are often more successful at getting sex, they don’t think that this actually affects sex in any way.

This could be for a number of different reasons, perhaps women prefer men with bigger penises. Or it could also be a confidence thing, men with bigger penises are often much more confident. This is because they know that they are good in bed and so are much more confident with the ladies.

The size of the penis doesn’t actually affect the pleasure from sex, as always it depends on what you do with it!

Myth: Sex requires an erection

Fact: This myth seems to of become even more of an issue because of there being so many different impotence aids and drugs available. Most men will be unable to get it up at one time or another, however this doesn’t need to cause a serious problem.

There are a great deal of things that you can do to get pleasure for both you and your partner without having to have an erection. You can use your mouth and hands for example. Your skin is very sensitive and can be considered as a sexual organ.

If you think that not being able to get an erection is the reason that you can’t have sex then you will start piling on the pressure. This will make it much less likely that you will be able to have an erection when you need one!

There are many different causes of erectile problems, many of these are psychological rather than being associated with medical conditions. Erectile problems can be caused by fatigue or tiredness, anger, alcohol abuse, and the use of certain drugs.

Myth: Sex is over when the man comes

Fact: This doesn’t actually have to be what happens. When a man comes the couple could slow down, and then start from the beginning. If they talk and tell each other what they want then they should be able to satisfy one another.

Sex can continue after the man has had an orgasm, in fact a man can enjoy sex without having to ejaculate. There might be a small but of discomfort if the man does not ejaculate, however this will get better very quickly.

Myth: Men in relationships do not masturbate

Fact: Believe it or not this really isn’t true. When a man is in a relationship he will tend to masturbate much less frequently, however both people are likely to masturbate when their partner is not available. Some couples like to spend time masturbating together, it’s completely up to you.
