Workplace wellness strategies that attack health care cost increases at the cause can make a difference to employees lives, their loyalty and the bottom line. Employers are increasingly taking an active involvement in the wellness of their employees.

An analysis of 32 studies of workplace wellness initiatives found 28 with an average return on investment of $3.48 per $1 in program costs (US dollars), as reported in the American Journal of Public Health in 2001.

A cited lack of innovative solutions available from external sources is leading to the conclusion that employers must take charge of the situation themselves.
