All of us are looking forward to spring. Longer days and warmer weather give us the feeling of a new beginning. Flowers are beginning to grow. Birds are building nests and laying eggs. It is a time for change, rebirth and renewal.
This season also brings with it a chance for us to grow and renew our own lives. It gives us an opportunity to examine how we respond to what is happening around us and determine if there is need for improvement. We can’t always change the events and things occurring around us but we can change our attitude towards those events. It is very easy to see all of the things that are occurring around us and feel overwhelmed. The news reports we hear our constantly bombarding us with gloom. We may find ourselves facing frustrated and cynical colleagues and friends. We may be facing challenges that we never anticipated. It just seems so easy to give in and give up.
But this is spring. This is our chance to renew ourselves and understand what things we truly do have control over. Our attitude is the one thing that we truly can control and change. It is our choice to decide how we are going to respond to the events occurring around us. We can choose to respond with a positive attitude or respond with frustration, negativity and helplessness. Responding with a positive attitude allows us to be much more proactive and creative during difficult times. It also improves our health, relationships, and lets us just enjoy life more.
As you move through this spring, determine how you respond to situations. Decide for yourself if you are going to respond with a positive attitude or with negativity, fear and doubt. It is your choice. Take this opportunity to renew and refresh your life by changing your attitude. Don’t let spring fever pass you by!
