Feel Internal Satisfaction With A Simple Thanksby Saim Saeed Tanauli

Many a times it happens in our lives that we feel discontented and angry at minor things. Whether we are at work, home, or just chilling, we start feeling irritated and uneasy. We start scolding and misbehaving with anyone present around us. Ever wonder what these feelings can be related to? A slight remembrance of the fact that God is there for us always.

Take some time out and think. Think about the numerous, countless, unimaginable blessings of the Almighty on humans. Start counting them and your whole life may seem incomplete for it. How many people thank God for the ability to breathe or walk or talk? How many people thank God for their mere existence? How many people thank God for the gift of Free Will? Not everyone of us is blest as others, many have difficulty breathing, walking, talking and sensing. Consider how your life would be if you had difficulties in any of these areas. Just a simple thanks to God for his blessings is all that is the dire need to show our gratitude to our Creator.

Our puny existence in comparison to our Creator is proof of the fact that God is the Almighty. If we do not thank Him for his blessings, do we erroneously think that it will make any of the slightest difference to God? Thanking God is the key to life. A very, very rich man once told his wife that he "never asked God for anything. I just thank Him for what he has already given me." And then, sure enough, more good fortune would come his way!

At the time of the Civil War in America, one of the ministers asked Mr. Lincoln, "Is God on our side?" The President replied, "The question is not whether God is on our side. The question is whether we are on God's side."

Take some time out and thank God. Thank him by offering prayers, by following the path described to us as the best amongst all or just say "Thank you God for your limitless blessings". The righteous path assigned to us leads to total success and blessings keep piling on us all along of us, many of which we are unaware of. God always forgives his beings if they repent truly from the heart, which shows how great HE is. This too is a blessing. People say that if you have committed any wrongful doing, you can undo it by performing a good deed in return. Isnt that too one of Allah's blessings?

Thanking in our daily lives to our colleagues and other individuals is what we always intend to practise so that no one feels offended to the slightest. How come we can commit such an error as to forget to thank our Lord when He is the one because of whom we are in the world and alive and using His immeasureable blessings each second of our lives?

It really creates a feeling of great satisfaction and contentment when we thank God. We feel different and really at peace in our hearts and minds. It should become a routine of our lives just like we breathe every second, we should thank our Creator similarly. It doesn't matter what conditions we are facing. These are just the tests by our Lord which we should bear with patience and fortitude. If we think we are not rich and there are many rich people around, just think for a while that you are blessed with a million other things like a complete body functioning efficiently, which many people do not possess. If you think that your body lacks something, think of those people who miss out on others around them to comfort them in their times of need. These people present around you are a blessing of God on you. We should thank God regardless of the things that we think we do not have. God has something better in store and stops us from those things for reasons that are in the long run better for us.

Be grateful to your Lord whatever circumstances you are in because we can never be thankful enough for all His blessings in relation to our existence.
