My first article here at Self Growth.com
shows some of the statistics for earning potentials in the massage profession.
While they do now show favorable or appealing results, the thing is that it can be a different way.
Massage schools and associations are almost creating this problem as they lack the ability to teach people how to be successful. Schools will tell student not to quit their day jobs and will also tell students to start off with really low rates because this is the only way they will get clients. Students and recent massage school graduates start out with low self confidence in their abilities and skills and accept these ideas that it will be hard to create a successful massage practice and accept the idea that it will take awhile to create a successful massage practice.
The truth is that if you think it will take a long time and be difficult to start a practice - it will be.
If you think it will be fun, easy and that it will only take a few months to get a practice going - it will be.
While there are many resources out there to learn about starting, building and maintaining a massage practice - no amount of learning or will power will help you in creating success. A successful massage therapist will be able to ask for help in starting and building a practice and find a mentor to help them along the way. Having someone who has been through it and to be there with you through all the trials and challenges will give you the inspiration that you need to be successful.
It will also help you in keeping focused on what you want rather than on focusing on the challenges. In doing so, you will be able to start changing your beliefs about yourself and your ability to earn money. Your actions will then reflect your beliefs. If you don't know what you believe about yourself- just look at what you have in your life currently and start thinking about what someone must believe to have what you have or don't have in your life. Changing your beliefs about money takes time and takes a commitment to wanting to learn more about yourself.
You can't do it alone - nor do you have too!
