Much as I like his music, Tom Petty had it wrong when he wrote “The Waiting Is The Hardest Part.”

It’s 12:10 am on Tuesday. I’m leaving for Scottsdale, Arizona in six hours and nine minutes. Sitting in my living room now typing these words. I unpacked the laptop, since I gave up on the idea of sleep. Too wound up with excitement.

For weeks I’ve been cultivating an enjoyment of this trip, ever since I made the spontaneous decision to hop on a plane and go. (Hint: last time I was there I saw the original release of The Muppet Movie.) I’ve been planning, envisioning how things will go, lining up people to meet. It’s all great fun!

And it’s possible the trip won’t be anywhere near as fun as I’m imagining it to be. But that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment I’ve been experiencing for the past five weeks or so. The postive energy in the “before” stage takes on a life of its own.

And this can be true for ANY part of your life. Career, romance, health, fortune, you name it. The planning phase can - and should be fantastic.

“But Larry, you knew this trip was coming. You booked it. I don’t KNOW the stuff I want is going to show up.”

Well, that just means you have to KNOW what you want is coming.

So for starters, work with something that’s in your direct control. Book your own trip, or picnic lunch, or hot date…whatever.

Then when you’re feeling strong expand your horizons. Learn how to KNOW your stuff is on the way.

There IS a defined path to everything you want. It’s in lots of places. It’s in Ask and It Is Given, by Abraham. It’s in Manifest Your Destiny by Wayne Dyer. It’s in Magical Manifestation, by me.

Time to pack up the laptop and get going. Nothing like a semi awake state in a nearly deserted airport to give you an interesting perspective on things. I’m even looking forward to that!

Your Travelin’ Buddy,
Larry
