Uranus Shifts to Pisces

Today the world shifts. The outer planet Uranus, planet of freedom and revolution, changes signs from Aquarius to Pisces. This sign change of Uranus only happens every 7+ years and represents a major shift for the world and for each person. It is especially significant for Aquarians, who have Uranus leaving their sign and also as their Sun’s ruling planet. The outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, signify events and forces beyond individual control. They represent collective events and decisions. Thus, their effect on an individual chart is often seen as fated. Let’s look at what this change might mean for us as individuals and as global citizens.

For you the individual, some department of your life will have a major shift, though often there is a period of upset and adjustment as Uranus changes signs. Realize that the area of your life ruled by the sign Aquarius is going to make a major shift. This depends upon your full (and accurately timed) horoscope. If you have Aquarius rising, it is your ascending sign, then this shift indicates that you will have significant changes in how you appear to others, in your person presentation, and these changes will be towards a softer, more emotional more mystical you. If Aquarius rules your second house, money and possessions will flow more easily, you may change your source of income moving away from hard and scientific towards soft and dreamy. As you move around the wheel, each house will give different results if ruled by Aquarius.

To make this news even better, with Uranus’s move into Pisces we will have a seven year period of mutual reception between Neptune, ruler of Pisces, in Uranus’s sign, and Uranus, ruler of Aquarius in Neptune’s sign. This indicates a period of heightened cooperation between the signs and houses in your horoscope that are impacted. This mutual reception between Uranus and Neptune has not happened for 500 years, so it is indeed a time to celebrate and to use to our advantage.

From a societal or global view, though, the Uranus shift into Pisces is not all hearts and flowers. Unlike individuals, who can do psycho-spiritual work so that they experience the upside of life’s events, societies usually take planetary shifts at their lowest manifestation. We usually have to collectively work to make the energy be positively expressed. So, how might this be? Uranus, the planet ruling freedom and revolution and computers and high-tech, going into a water sign, in fact, THE mystical water sign Pisces, suggests many things. First, water and biological systems will be much more important scientifically and economically during the upcoming seven years. Expect water politics to be much more important. Expect water quality to be much more important. Expect water to be important internationally, as in water to drink and water to empower international disputes. Scientifically, the biological sciences (which involve a lot of water) will be much more important. Expect much more about the human genome and the related technologies that allow tracing of any product of animal origin back to its original animal. With computers, we can expect to see direct interface between computers and brains by 2010. Bio-medical researchers are already working on implants using computer technology that allow the deaf to hear and the blind to see. Expect that these technologies will be improved dramatically. Remember TV series called the Six Million-Dollar Man? The hero had been upgraded with numerous superior parts, allowing him much greater than human abilities, following an accident that injured many parts. We may all be able to have that technology and at a much lower cost.

Perhaps the people most directly effected will be Aquarians and Pisceans. Aquarians will have to move away from the Mister Spock image towards a kinder, more emotional, more humane personal style. The Pisceans will become much more focused on logic and science. Endeavors with strong Piscean bases, such as cinema, religion, fantasy, psychotherapy, dreamwork, will have major changes as they are impacted with the clear mental energy of Uranus.

Finally, look to many with Aquarius stellia (clusters of planets) to dramatically shift their own personal views. Among those born during the Aquarius convergence of 1961 were Country-Western start Garth Brooks, and King Abdullah of Jordan. Other strong Aquarians include Angela Davis, the university professor and sixties radical, Arsenio Hall, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, Cybill Shepherd, Ken Wilber, and Oprah Winfrey. The People’s Republic of China resonates strongly to the Aquarian vibration; thus you should expect that the People’s Republic will occupy a much stronger position in the world eight years from now. Finally, people’s charts live on long after they are gone. One of our recently departed, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, had strong Aquarian factors in her horoscope. Bessette-Kennedy will become a much more popular figure over the coming decade.
