Peace is not something you wish for; It's something you make, Something you do, Something you are, And something you give away.” – Robert Fulgham

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

There is so much heartbreak in the world recently, what with the Norway mass-murderer, Anders Behring Breivik, causing unconscionable horror in that country and with the Japan earthquakes causing unspeakable grief and upheaval for the residents of that country on March 11th, April 21st, and finally again, on June 22nd of this year. These are just two of the major events that have caused a feeling of unrest and chaos. More than anything else in the world, humanity needs peace right now. As we all know, peace begins from within ourselves before it can ever make a positive impact on the world.

There was a song written long ago called, “Let There Be Peace on Earth” and the words that follow are these: “…and let it begin with me. Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.” It is actually a religious song, yet the message is meant for everyone. We must -we absolutely must - find a way to reflect peace in our world, before the results end up being beyond catastrophic.

The saying above from Robert Fulgham is so extremely profound in its simplicity. We, as a whole, cannot just wish for peace. We must take action, do things that create peace, and be living, breathing reflections of what peace looks like. Thereafter, we can share that peace with others, so they may experience the truth of What We Are All Meant to Experience. It's part of our purpose for being here in the first place.
