Are you one of those people that never seem to have a minute to yourself? Do you feel as if your whole life and everyone in it would just stop or die if you werenât there? Take heart, dear one, take heart. The wisest and most beneficial thing you can do is to yield to yourself first.
The world wonât stop without you. Your family and friends and co-workers wonât die if you arenât there. It might be weird to realize this fact but remember that your ego gets in the way if you believe the second sentence in this paragraph. Remember, too, that E-G-O is âEdging God Outâ according to Dr. Wayne Dyer, author of many world-renowned self-help books.
Itâs okay to slow down and take a breath. It is okay to take fifteen minutes out of the day, be it when you wake up, take a break at work, or meditate before sleep at night. You must do that! Even God Himself took seven days to make the world â why would you believe you have to get all of your lifeâs agenda done in one day? Why even have agenda? Yes, there are things you need to accomplish. Yes, some have deadlines. Yet, the world is not going to end if they arenât âdone on time.â Nor will your world fall apart around you. Remember that your world is created by your thoughts about it. Our experience of life is subjective because it is all based on our thoughts about what we see and what we feel about what we see. Each experience is different for the individual who is living through it.
Yielding to yourself is wise because it takes into account that you are as valuable and important as anyone else. You canât truly benefit and care for others until you benefit by caring about yourself. Taking time to eat healthy foods is wise. Taking time to meditate, pray, or just be still and close your eyes is wise. Taking time to exercise, no matter how lightly, is still better than taking no physical action at all. Yes, if you are that busy and on the go, you will think you are exercising because you are constantly on the run. However, when you are running around like a chicken with its head cut off, it is not considered beneficial exercise. It is stressful and causes damage to your physical, mental, and emotional health.
Please take time to ponder the ramifications of the effects your ego is having on your health! You must remember that, innately, you are empowered, you are strong, and you are greater than you give yourself credit for. Yet in order to be the best part of your innate greatness, you must transition your thoughts, mind, actions, and words into becoming a calmer, focused, even-paced individual.
