If you happen to miss a dose of Allegra allergy medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, then take only one dose. You shouldn’t take Allegra allergy medicine 15 minutes after taking antacid that contains magnesium or aluminum like Maalox, Mylanta or Milk of Magnesia as they could lessen the effect of Allegra allergy medicine. Avoid using antacids within 15 minutes before or after taking a medication that contains Allegra. Antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb this medication. Do not take Allegra with fruit juice (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit).

Avoid taking any other cold or allergy medicines unless your doctor has told you to. Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Allegra: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop taking Allegra and call your doctor if you have fever, chills, body aches, cough, or other flu symptoms. Allegra allergy medicine is an effective antidote to the recurring seasonal allergies that plague millions of people worldwide. With Allegra allergy medicine’s aid, many of those afflicted are able to lead a normal life.
