So why the fuss about Aloe Vera?

Ummm because it's AMAZING!

You only need to look at how powerful the effects are of the cactus plant that produces tequilla is in order to understand the potency of the cactus family.

The Aloe Vera plant truly deserves its wonder plant status.Just think about the environment that the Aloe Vera plant has to endure-hot, dry, sunny climates. Then think about what the flesh of the Aloe Vera plant does for us humans…And I want to let you know that I'll only be talking about Aloe Vera's benefits to the skin (it has many other benefits also but I'm sticking to the theme of skin here)

1. Heals/Soothes sunburn_ WHY? Because it is a) anti-inflammatory and b) this plant is super-hydrating (think desert..a plant like this would need to be able to hold it's own out there)

2. Takes the sting and itch factor out of mosquito bites_WHY? a) because it has anti-inflammatory properties and b) because it is anti-microbial

3. Keeps the skin youthful and hydrated_HOW? a) because Aloe Vera is rich in antioxidants, it fights these free radicals and rejuvenates the skin. In other words, Aloe Vera is a natural sun screen (think desert again…once again a plant living under such harsh conditions needs to create a natural protective barrier against its number one enemy-the sun! How kind of the Aloe Vera plant to pass on such a benefit to our skin) andb) Aloe Vera is super-hydrating (as mentioned previously)

4. Effective in Acne treatment_HOW? a) Aloe has anti-microbial benefits b) it helps tighten pores through its astringent properties (ASTRINGENT is a herbal term for firming/tightening) c) it has anti-inflammatory properties (this aides acne sufferers in reducing the appearance of the redness associated with acne spots) d) Aloe is super-hydrating (ok…I'm repeating myself now, but think of all of the teenage acne sufferers doing everything in their power to degrease their skin stripping the natural oils from their skins. Aloe Vera gel is the perfect LIGHT film that is anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, astringent and hydrating…Starting to see how this might help an inflamed over reactive acne prone skin type vs using what's normally sold at the drug store and smelling of alcohol/peroxide bases?)

5. Great for sensitive skin types_WHY? a) Aloe Vera is Anti-Inflammatory b) Super hydrating and c) rich in Antioxidants
