“Are We to Take Care of One Another… or Not?”

As of late, thousands of people have come to our borders. They come from impoverished nations, people who lack the simplest of things such as food in the homeland, they have no quality of life there, and they are oppressed to the point of losing their life, and they are looking for a new beginning. Some people say, “Turn them away”, others say, “Let them in”. Yet, didn’t our grandparents do the exact same thing? I know mine did.

The World is Getting Smaller - We are the Tree of Mankind

With the advent of smartphones, TV, and laptops the world is a much smaller than it used to be. People see all the simple things we have such as good food and a chance to make a living. How can anyone blame them for wanting a better life? And as the world gets smaller this will take place more and more… it’s only natural. We all want a better life for our children. And we are all branches and roots of the same tree of mankind… we are one.

Who Will Cast the First Stone?

Many condemn those looking for a better life. I know my father came to the US to live with his uncle and to become a doctor… and he studied hard and eventually became a citizen. But instead of being a doctor he ended up becoming successful rice farmer feeding the people of the world. Absolutely everyone is looking for a better life, everyone wants a chance to succeed. And success is right around the corner for anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort to make it happen. So how can we push people off a cliff like lemmings… when they only want… what all of us want?

The Worlds Challenges Can’t Be Solved with a Closed Heart

If we close our hearts we only create more strife and dissatisfaction in the world. Those who only look at the numbers, those who only see dollar signs, those who are full of hate and anger will move us towards the brink of destruction. And they in the end, will create more hunger, create more challenges in the world, and all of this they do out of fear. Fear that they may lose something. But the reality is, they actually have already lost. They have lost their humanity, their ability to LOVE… and most of all to LOVE the God that exists in all people.

If We All Come Together… Things Can Change… We Have the Answers

Everyone has answers to all the world challenges. Lately, one person discovered we can grow algae and make it into building materials which are as strong as wood and it’s renewable and edible and life-sustaining. Another person discovered a new way of creating fresh water out of thin air… and the list goes on and on. We can solve the worlds hunger problems, we can solve the world’s lack of water problems, we can solve the lack of housing for everyone on the planet.

But none of this can be done with a closed heart… it takes working together in LOVE to change the world.

And if we’re ever going to change the world… we have to change ourselves first.

Ask yourself what would Jesus, Buddha, and Krishna do?

There in your heart, you will find the answer.
