Building a "Buy to let" property portfolio

There are certain givens in life. People are always going to need to eat. So food providers are an essential part of life and wherever we are in the United Kingdom we will always be fairly close to places we can buy food. Traditionally this was the high street and the local market stall. In recent years however the big 5 supermarkets plus a host of smaller franchise type corner stores have squeezed the traditional high street grocer, fruit and veg shop and butcher out of business.
The second essential is clothing. Here in the UK all of us need a variety of clothing as our climate can go from high temperatures in the regions of 30deg C in mid to late summer to lows of -10 in late winter. One of the things we were always good at was making cloth and fabrics. The first looms were designed and operated by British industry and the Manchester used to be the world centre for linen with cotton being imported and exported as fabrics. The actual knitting, weaving dyeing and so on is now largely being done in India, Pakistan and China as we can no longer compete with their labour rates. Nevertheless many of the world's top clothes designers are British and we have a vibrant trade in clothing of all sorts
The third essential is shelter. Everyone needs a place to live. At one stage the much of this was provided by the councils as rental properties but in the 1980's much of this housing stock was released onto the market thus enabling millions of Britons to become house owners. By and large this has been a good thing and led to the rise of a very strong middle class.
It also led to a fair amount of trade in these properties. Many people have cashed in on the windfall and upgraded or moved elsewhere and the property prices escalated accordingly.
There remains a huge demand for rental property and here again there is a vibrant market for people who wish to own a portfolio of properties from which they can derive a constant income. Having a portfolio of property is a very desirable method of building up assets which will provide perpetual income. Property Investment is a solid investment in bricks and mortar. There are many a wealthy landlord who invested in properties, making a deposit of about 15% and then managing to pay off his mortgage and take an income with the rental income that property attracts.
And how much of a better prospect this will be if one is able to purchase desirable, ready to let investment properties and below market value. HBF Investments maintains a large portfolio of properties, in the United Kingdom that they have managed to secure and are able to sell on to investors at below market value. These properties they are happy to assist you purchase and will do everything for you, from arranging the valuation and mortgage, to instructing the solicitors, to arranging tenants, and even, if requested managing the property for you.
Investment property is a solid and intelligent way of investing in a future income.
