The pregnant woman has a lot of work to do. There are the obvious tasks, such as work, laundry, cooking, or even taking care of other children. But there are many important preparations her body is working on to ensure that mother and baby stay healthy. These things will make everyday life harder to cope with. She will be more fatigued, may have mood swings, and aches and pains that make doing her normal day-to-day chores more difficult. A good support system is imperative to make the future mother's life easier.
Don't feel bad about needing to take care of yourself. You are growing a small person inside of you and you deserve to take a break! Eat more than you usually would, because you will need those extra pounds. Take a break after dinner and let your husband do the dishes. Its those small things that will add up and make you feel much better.
Stay away from saunas and hot tubs during pregnancy. Expectant mothers should avoid places where they can get overheated because it can be dangerous for the baby. Some spas also use oils that could cause early contractions, particularly during the first two trimesters of pregnancy. Juniper, rosemary and clary sage should all be avoided.
When you are pregnant it may be beneficial to find a support group. Being a pregnant woman is certainly not easy. Between the emotions, and the physical sicknesses that accompany it , it can be quite a trying time. Find friends, and others that have been through it that can help support you till delivery day.
You are pregnant, so now is the time to celebrate. You should avoid alcohol, of course, but you should not stop having some fun. You can make a toast to your little bundle of love with a glass of sparkling cider. You could even go all out, and have a party to announce your fantastic news. This is something to be celebrated!
If you experience symptoms like blurred vision, pain in your right side, frequent headaches, very rapid weight gain, or cola-colored urine in the second half of your pregnancy, report them to your doctor immediately. You may be developing preeclampsia, a pregnancy-related condition that can be life-threatening. Your doctor may need to perform tests to check for protein in your urine, and your blood pressure will be closely monitored.
Pregnancy is a time of change and growth for your body, so why not take pictures of your belly as it develops? The miracle of your baby growing inside from month to month may soon be forgotten in the many challenges of caring for a new born and these pictures will be a reminder of this glorious time.
As you can see, everyday life puts many demands on a pregnant woman's life as well as her body. A good support system can make all the difference in her comfort and well-being.
