Over the time, scaffolding in construction sites and other related field have become an attractive career option for various enthusiastic candidates. However, the aspirants cannot enrol themselves in the career opportunity for trying their luck. Rather, they are required to have adequate training in their corresponding fields. Starting from the basic level to the advanced scaffolding training course, the practical learning facility provided by the most reputed training institutes is not only limited to make the trainees aware of the techniques of scaffolding, but the purpose is also to educate them about the safety precautions. Safety is inevitably an essential part of scaffolding and as the complexities of construction increases; it requires the workers to remain more careful about their activities. In the recent times, the structural base has undergone a significant amount of development. More advanced tools and equipment are being used in the field to make sure the workers can give their best to make the construction work smooth. Despite the advancements, scaffolding safety measures revolve a lot of misconceptions. Inadequate knowledge and lack of practical experience are the reasons that lead a lot of enthusiasts to believe in these delusions. Go through the following to understand the realities unde eath those misconceptions challenging the importance of scaffolding safety. Myth 1: Small construction works do not need security protection A common myth regarding the scaffolding suggests that arranging safety gears for small construction is nothing but a waste of money as the workers are skilled enough to take up any challenges. There are situations where the employees are not required to get up beyond six feet and therefore, a lot of people tend to think that climbing up such a minimal distance does not need any safety precautions. Well, you have to understand that accidents do not happen by telling you and no certainty is there that suggests that a person cannot fall from six feet and injure himself. Safety precautions should be taken under any condition to prevent such unfortunate events. Myth 2: Emergency services are the only way for rescue operations in scaffolding As scaffolding work involves a lot of unpredictable emergency situations, the trainees are given adequate training on handling such situations. The common misconception regarding scaffolding is whenever any such unforeseen accident occurs; it is better to wait for the emergency service to come. Well, evidently emergency situations can only be controlled through prompt actions, and if nothing is the fellow workers do not take that actions, it may jeopardise a life. Therefore, every scaffolder must be equipped with the first aid training during basic dogging and rigging course to make sure the injured person is attended before the emergency services arrive and take charge of the whole situation. Myth 3: Safety gears for scaffolding includes a body harness only Among the common myths related to the safety gears of scaffolding, the most prominent one is a body harness is enough to ensure the safety of a worker at the construction site. In reality, the body harness needs to be attached to a lanyard, and that is connected to an anchor. Therefore, it is mandatory to assess the rope's distance and know the probability of pendulum fall is essential. If the measurement turns out to be inappropriate and the worker fells down by any chance, he will bounce back and that causes a major accident. A lot of precautionary safety gears are accepted as crucial for scaffolding work, and the workers need to use those accordingly for ensuring optimum safety.
