Buy generic drugs: They are as effective as their brander counterparts
Written by Eward chivar
Here it is mandatory to clarify the difference between a branded drug and its generic version. A pharmaceutical company makes a drug and launches it in the market after successful clinical trials. The government allows the manufacturer to sell the drug for up to 20 years and recover its investment. After the grace period, the government allows standard drug manufacturers to make its general version for the benefit of common man. Generic drugs are sold at cost effective prices because the manufacturers have invested nothing in discovering the formulas for making the drugs.
Take example of Viagra, the powerful drug for erectile deficiency in men. Viagra is a Pfizer product and the manufacturer sells it at a high cost. On the other hand, Kamagra is a general ED drug and it is available at reduced price. Viagra and Kamagra work well in ED and one can take any one of the drug. Since Kamagra is cost effective, it is bought by a large number of men suffering from erectile dysfunction. Standard drug manufacturers make generic version of every drug so that people can buy generic drugs and save money while taking quality medicine.
The precaution one needs to take when buying standard pills is that the pharmacy one is dealing with should be authorized. There are pharmacists that offer counterfeit medicines at temptingly low prices to make quick money. Manufacturing and selling duplicate pills is an offence but some people make counterfeit medicines using inferior quality material for profit. Every year Food and Drug department seize counterfeit medicines worth millions of dollars from various medicine stores. The store owners that sell counterfeit medicines are put behind bars but it doesn’t deter people from indulging in illicit drug trade. But you can buy generic drugs from authorized medical stores and prevent falling prey to illicit drug traders.
The cost of anti-biotic and other life saving drugs has increased considerably and the only way to save money while buying medicines is to buy generic drugs. General medicines are as effective as their branded counterparts and there is no harm in taking standard drugs.
