In India education is of great importance. In early times it was confined in the some traditional schools and colleges but today the mode of education has changed with the change in time. With the increase in demand of it among the students but due to lack in time one cannot be able to pursue it from the regular stream; therefore distance education is the best method for those students. It is commonly defined as the method of delivering lectures and to teach such students who are not present in the traditional schools but want to study. It can also be defined as the process in order to teach the students or people when there is a distance between the learners and the one who provides education. This kind of concept mainly helps the people to study and do their job side by side. Many individuals who because of any reason do not able to complete their studies regularly by visiting a college or school can now easily do this with the help of this method. Plethoras of universities in India are now offering various correspondence courses by providing notes to all the students.

In addition to this, due to the limitations of formals modes of education in correspondence studies most of the people were attracted towards it. The formal meeting between the teachers and students are made after some time in these kinds of courses in order to have a communication between both of them. During these courses assignments are given o the students which are being checked by the experts. It would not be wrong to say that this mode of education is mainly useful for the individuals who want to get higher education but don't want to go to school or college regularly. This whole process also helps the students to share their cultures with each other as students from different communities take admission in the same course.

In earlier times the study material was provided to the students as printed media. But today those print outs are replaced by cd’s and many more forms of media. In India there are mainly two types of distance educational institutes one is correspondence courses institute and another is open universities. Since, after the introduction of Distance Learning in India it gets a good response among students. Earlier the aim of institutes is to offer quality education to the students but, now with the change in time majority of institutes only want money and nothing else. Hence, the higher authorities must check that these institutes should only offer quality education to all the students. These authorities must also ensure that these learning institutes should not reduce to that institutes that only offer degrees to the students instead of providing them quality education.
