What most men need is a deeper understanding of their emotions, an understanding of how their mind works and which ones cause them trouble. This level of understanding and introspection can be difficult to achieve especially if you have been brought up to handle difficult situations by sucking it up… yes, at some point you do need to do just that, but not at the expense of good mental health.
So, to help you improve your chances of winning your battles against all of the external and internal conflicts you are faced with right now, here is one tip that you might be able to use:
Don’t Let Self-Esteem Rule Your Life:
No doubt your self esteem right now will be at an all time low. Considering that you just lost your title as the head of the household, not to mention your partner it’s indeed very understandable that you will be feeling very low and in need of something to give you a sense of direction and power. But keep one thing in mind, feeding your self esteem will give you nothing more than a false sense of control and VERY temporary satisfaction.
If you really want to move on with your life, you will need to be able to see past your self-esteem and concentrate on being happy for who you are and what you have. People’s judgments will always be there whenever you are happy or miserable; they don’t help or make you feel better in any way so why give them your attention?
Achieving this state of mind can where you do not need the approval of other people in order to be happy will be difficult to achieve so do not feel down if you do not achieve it on your first few tries. If you do fail, just pick up where you left off and try again, because as long as you keep pressing on, guaranteed your life will get better.
