What is in our food?

You will never know unless you are a shopping detective and become an avid reader of the small print on food labels. The fact is our health depends on it, this is what most people will never know. Don't make the mistake others made; processed food is the major cause of most illness.

About 100 percent of food you consume is not 80 percent preservative free, not by far.

Food philosophy, the real home truth debunks the myth that our food is safe. Let's look and expose the very real risk we and our families take by eating certain foods.

Why is this so crucial of what's in our food?

It is most important and crucial because our health depends on it. By avoiding most of the bad additives when shopping for food one could say you are on a reasonable good diet, but this is unlikely the case. Let's look at our food crops as a starter; the problem here is nearly all our crops are grown with artificial fertilizers, pesticides and growth promoters plus other drugs. Depletion of soils over some decades has taken its toll and a certain quality in the food has been lost in its growing process. You may have heard the old saying: an apple a day keeps the doctor away. This is no longer correct because our fruits and vegetables are no longer grown the natural way, with artificial fertilizers and growth hormones has changed all this. Back in the fifties one peach per day would have given one person all the vitamin "A" required for one day, now you would have to eat 53 peaches per day to get the same amount of vitamins required on a daily base.

GMO: What is it?

This is another issue, G M O (Genetically Modified Organism). The three words say everything, don't they? This ingredient found in many food crops and processed foods can damage your liver, kidneys, irritable bowl, it can cause migraines, weight problems, fatigue and so on, therefore avoid G M O's at all costs.

BPA-Bisphenol: Have you heard of BPA?

It is a by-product used in plastics and canned food, the plastic lining used in containers releases a toxic chemical that can cause breast cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes, heart disease, plus other health problems. Bottled water will become toxic unless stored in glass. Let us have a closer look at the water as an example because many people drink it daily. By the time the bottled water reaches its destination to you it is often kept over a long period of time in the car, left in fluctuating temperatures (change from hot to cold and visa versa), toxins are released into the water and we think it is safe for us to drink.

Sodas and soft drinks:

They're loaded with sugars and fructose and most of them stored in plastic bottles; sodas also create weight problems and other serious health issues.

Research reveals: Processed food is the cause of major illness.

Do you know what is in processed food? Any processed and artificial food is unhealthy because of all the bad ingredients. Processed meats are the ones to avoid as much as possible; they have lots of chemicals, preservatives and additives just to extend shelf live.

According to research processed meats tops the list of being worse than all other processed foods. It will increase the risk of cancer, also colon cancer and lots of other health issues. Most processed and cured meats contain a preservative called sodium nitrite; it is an antimicrobial agent to enhance color, flavor and taste. That makes the taste so good and we believe it is also good for us.

Minimize your exposure to environmental toxins of pesticides, household chemicals and air fresheners. Even bread, one of our most common daily foods is containing potassium bromate as an additive to increase volume. Even small amounts of potassium bromate can create health problems. You wouldn't think they can stuff up a veggie burger, would you? A veggie burger can contain hexane, a chemical absorbed via inhalation. So, if you think having a veggie burger is a healthy thing, that is not always the case; we as consumers are totally mislead.

How to avoid sickness through food?

By knowing and avoiding some of the culprits in our food we also can avoid lots of sickness and improve our health. You may say to yourself 'I have eaten this stuff for years and I am OK'. It affects some people quicker than others; it will or can take some decades. Eventually it'll happen and you will say 'Where did it come from?' Prevention is better than cure, believe me. Determination can move mountains; those determined enough will find their choice for the right food. Despite the high percentage of our food being loaded with chemicals that are diminishing our health you will be able to compare the food and counteract by using certain foods and supplements.

Listing all the bad ingredients contained in food would make a thick book; there will be more about that later. You must have vital information about food; how to avoid sickness; how to improve your health; discovering other nutritional benefits and good supplementation. This is the only way to prevent illness and prolong good health.

Author's Bio:

My name is Josef Bichler. As I am retired now and have more time available, health has become one of my major interests. Although I consider myself very fit at my age, I have overcome certain health issues without medication or the help of a doctor. Having success with my own health problems has given me more inspiration and therefore my research has become more intense. An even fewer number of people know how to handle any health problems other than going and see a doctor, and yet most health issues can be cured the natural way. I know, I've done it, and would like to share this information to help others.
