Let’s look at the Kitchen of our Lives…
The Kitchen and dining areas form the heart of a family, because this is where we come together for food and drink. The kitchen holds clues to a person’s lifestyle. As the health center of our life, it is important that it function well and supports us.
What is going on inside health wise that is a direct correlation with our thoughts? Thoughts that are negatively focused make us initiate bad habits with food or lack of exercise. Notice when you are having negative thoughts, what foods you are reaching for. Or the other way around. If you are eating foods full of ingredients that you can’t pronounce, notice what your thoughts are. Are you being judgmental, argumentative, critical…What is creating the stresses in our lives that directly affect what we crave… salt, sugar, starch. We are what we eat. Is how we are feeding our body feeding our soul.
Go inside and ask your body what it wants to eat.
The five elements of fire, earth, metal, water, and wood are used in feng shui to balance and create harmony. To create order out of chaos. The element associated with the kitchen is Wood, where wood is added to the fire for cooking.
To create positive chi in the kitchen keep pure white or green bowls of fresh fruit or vegetables on the counter. Keep counters free of clutter, and keep kitchen eating areas free of piles of bills and work papers.
Paint colors for kitchens should be white or blue, which promotes weight loss. Yellow for a social atmosphere. Greens are good for digestion, or beige and earth tones. Stay away from red and black, except to use in accents.
A Round dining table takes the emphasis off of a place of honor at the table. We are all here equal, coming together. Create a kitchen vision board with pictures of healthy foods and body types that you want to create and put your picture in place of theirs.
