Google has brought the entire world closer together with its search engine. Google has added some features to Google docs. Like any other product review we also review the new launch of Google. Some of the power features of Google are:
Google Docs Collaborates social aspects:
Google Docs is an online document service and the entire idea behind this is to add and manage the email function better.
Prior to this Google Docs allowed the user to check documents and add comments. But, this is not the solution. Now with the expansion introduced by Google, a person can comment directly through email and send it to the owner of the document.
After this addition, each document gets stamped and the commenter is allowed to use her profile on Google. Once the comment is answered then more discussion can be added to the stream. This stream cannot be deleted.
Spreading the currency:
When you click on File Menu, and go to the Spreadsheet Settings, and finally set the Locale settings of your choice you get one base currency in your spreadsheet. This is the way you are currently working. After setting the base currency you add more currencies in the cell you require. For this you simply have to select the cell in which you want to make the desired changes and press “123” tab given in the menu thread above the spreadsheet. This gets you to a dropdown menu. Click more currencies from the drop down menu and you get a pop up that carries different currencies. Choose the desired currency you want from the list and you get the base currency you need.
Form for data:
Sometimes it so happens that you collect data from different sources and then you want to club them in one report. Well, then you can use spreadsheet forms for this very purpose.
Go to the Forms option on the menu list above the spreadsheet. Click on the Form option. The resulting window has a survey format asking you to fill in question title, with Help Text to assist you to elaborate. Decide the format in which you want the respondent to answer, like Paragraph Text, Check boxes or multiple choices. You may have numerical data, in this case “Set the Question Type field to Text”.
Next step is to click on the Sample Question number 2, then click on the “Add Item” button on the left top corner of your window. After you complete this entire activity, email the form to required respondent by simply clicking the Form button.
Hyperlink the text quickly:
The conventional method of creating a hyperlink in your Google Docs involved copying and pasting the link in To What URL Field. Now the change is that you don’t have to copy paste the URL at all. Just select the text you need to hyperlink and then press Ctrl- K and just directly drag and drop the link from Bookmarks to the To What URL Field.
Videos for you:
In a jiffy to see tech specs, like resolutions of any of your Google Docs click on to the thumbnail purview of the video. Then click the Show Video.
Sometimes you find the tool bar a bit too distracting while you edit the crucial documents. Then you always need to hide it by selecting View followed by Hide Controls. Alternatively you can press F 11 to go to the full screen.
