Have you ever set goals and then not made them happen? Were these goals what you really wanted? If they were, then why did you procrastinate and not get them accomplished? When you set goals, be sure they are what YOU want. If they aren’t, then you might need to amend them. Or you might need to fine tune them. But be absolutely sure they are what YOU want, and not something someone else has tried to make you believe you should want.

Then remember, you can’t travel in two directions at one time. Singleness of purpose is necessary to accomplish your goals. Don’t allow yourself to compromise. The law of cause and effect tells us, “That to which we give our attention is going to become our experience.” What are you giving your attention to?

Did you write your goals down on a piece of paper? Did you cut out your pictures of all the things you want to do, have, and be? Did you paste them in your journal? Are you looking at them every day? Are you making yourself a note each day of what 3 things you can do tomorrow toward your goal? If you answered, “no” to any of these questions, please think about why not?

Someone told me she didn’t think she accomplished her goals because she has an underlying belief that it is wrong to want material things! Acquiring material things is the outer evidence of your success consciousness. Just be sure you don’t put yourself in debt where you are so stressed you can’t enjoy them or that you acquire these things at the expense of someone else. It’s certainly ok to have a nice home, a nice car, nice clothes, etc. It shows the world who you think you are.

Remember too, when you write your goals, you must believe you will achieve them. Dreams come true in wonderful ways. It doesn’t matter if your goal is business success, a new home, a new car, to gain or lose weight, quit smoking, or have a new romance. Whatever it is, if you haven’t written it down, do it now! You will be surprised at what will materialize in your life!
