What if you knew you could give yourself a raise and offer your clients better results at the same time?

If yours is a business in which you see clients one-on-one, consider this: If you’re still only offering your services by the hour or session, you may be losing the opportunity to not only make more money, but also to serve your clients more fully.

The way to accomplish both is to offer packages instead of just one session at a time.  We at Thrive Academy have taught this approach to thousands of our clients who’ve reported great results. Of course the raise is satisfying, and an added benefit is that they feel confident about their sales conversation because they’re able to offer their clients choice and value.

What is a package?

A package is a commitment to four or more sessions with you. The package is priced at a savings to the client and they pay it in advance (or whatever payment plan you choose to offer, but they’ve made a commitment to that number of sessions).

To give you an example, here’s how it worked for Carol Daly, one of the members of Thrive Academy’s prestigious $10,000-a-month Club (this is where we honor our members who had their first $10,000 month using what they’ve learned from us).

Get ready for some exciting math!  When Carol came to us she was charging $100 an hour as a hypnotherapist. We taught her that she could package up her services (she has several specialties to offer), make more money and create something of value her clients would really love.

Here’s what Carol did:  She gave herself a raise on the single sessions to $150 an hour. She offered a package rate of $1200 for 10 sessions. If you do the math here, you see that her clients actually save $300 when they buy the package.  And they commit to themselves in a bigger way by working with her more deeply. They also have the choice of doing one session at a time at the $150 an hour, and either way Carol still gets her raise with the package rate, from $100 to $120 an hour.

How do you create a package?

Think about your own business right now, and ask yourself these questions:

  1. What value do you offer your clients; in what ways can you bundle and frame the services you provide in a series of sessions?
  2. If people want to work with you on an ongoing basis, what is the minimum number of sessions they would need to really gain results?  It varies among people and practices, but 4 – 10 sessions is a good range to work with.
  3. What should you charge? Take your cue from Carol’s example, and we invite you to set the minimum for your package at $1000. You can even offer different levels targeted to the variety of services you offer or the specific need areas of your clients, and price them accordingly.

If your business goals are to share your gifts, to make a difference in the lives of others and make the money to create the lifestyle you desire, on your terms, then packaging your sessions is a proven approach to get you there.
