How to pray effectively is related to praying God’s Word because it’s the most effectual prayer there is! Since God is bigger than any circumstance you could possibly face, it doesn’t matter what kind of situation you’re in, what assets you lack, or what your inadequacies are, praying God’s Word can give you victory!

When learning how to pray effectively, simply conceive God’s Word in your mind, fashion it by your tongue, and verbalize it out of your mouth in conviction. This will turn out to be a spiritual force releasing the power of God within you.

Here are three tips to remember when you’re praying God’s Word…

1. You should be praying God’s Word back to Him.

The idea of how to pray by praying God’s Word back to Him means you agree with Him. Always remember Hebrews 4:12: “The Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword when you speak it in faith!” When you agree with God, you come into harmony with the power of His Word and render it effective to accomplish what it is meant to do.

Sometimes getting into agreement with God can be difficult, especially when your circumstances are the opposite of what God’s Word says. However, part of learning how to pray effectively is living by what you know rather than by what you see.

2. You should be speaking the end result you desire when you’re praying God’s Word.

When praying God’s Word back to Him talk as if what you desire is already in your possession. This is the most important aspect of how to pray. As imitators of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1), you should do what God does and “call those things that are not, as though they were” (Romans 4:17).

Learning how to pray effectively simply involves choosing the proper words. Joel 3:10 says, “Let the weak say I am strong. Let the oppressed say I am free. Let the sick say I am healed. Let the poor say I am rich.”

3. You should be praying God’s Word with expectation.

Some people don’t completely accept the fact that when you truly believe something, having faith that it will happen, it really WILL happen. God’s Word is clear; what you believe is what you get. Remember Jesus words the next time you wonder how to pray, “Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe you receive them and you shall have them” (Mark 11:24).

Praying God’s Word does little good without expecting God to move, for expectation is the key to receiving from God. God’s Word says, “Without faith, it’s impossible to please God, for he who comes to Him must believe that He is God, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Conclusion

You should be praying God’s Word back to Him, speaking the end result you desire, and praying with expectation. That’s the summary of how to pray effectively. Remember, praying God’s Word in faith and expectation has powerful impact and the ability to move mountains for you!
