When anxious: Write down ALL of your physical symptoms and note all the thoughts that accompany those symptoms.
Remain noting during the 'anxiety attack' wherever you are able, but try not to 'indulge' mentally, in the *physical* process. This physical process of anxiety is explained thus:
Your thoughts can trigger hormonal reactions that can
cause the 'fight or flight' anxiety response, and that in turn can keep your thoughts trapped in a negative 'triggering' pattern so that - for example- any event that makes you 'normally' nervous, can rather, make you feel absolutely traumatized - this in turn, can cause very serious and chronic disease - both physical and emotional, and that disease itself can cause much worry and worsen that acute anxiety process too, that in turn can leave you with further trauma to handle - you get the idea...
The physical response is due to the body releasing too much Adrenaline, Cortisol, Dopamine and so on.
The process can, as well as depleting the body of vital nutrients, set off an imbalance of other vital hormones such as estrogen and testosterone.
Some folks find supplementation helps.
A healthy diet, minus sugar and caffeine (especially after 5PM) as well as supplementing with Vitamin C, B6 and Magnesium, where appropriate, can help a lot in many cases.
Some people swear by Hormone 'helpers' such as Natural
Progesterone, but ensure you see a Natural
Health Professional as everyone is unique and can react differently to supplements.
Remember the 'bad thoughts' experienced are actually an old memory, acting like a broken record, that can repeat and trigger unwanted 'fear' reaction, and so, mastering your knowledge of the physical reactions of fear, and mastering calming techniques ('Mindful' meditations help a lot) and adjusting your diet accordingly - will usually help relieve your symptoms over time, and at least reassure you that you are not 'nuts/crazy' but have suffered a traumatic experience that repeats, due to the process explained herein. Be well.
