How to Prepare Yourself for the New Year!

The year 2009 is coming to an end and this is a time where most of us reflect on the past year. How well did we do? Did we accomplish everything we set out to do? Did we have any significant milestones? Did we do what we can during the year to steer our life in the direction we desire?

Now that we are wrapping up 2009 and we are answering all of these questions, it is crucial to take this opportunity to prepare ourselves for how we are going to grow and manifest our desires in 2010. Take what we have learned from this year and develop a detailed blueprint for this upcoming year.

First, identify your problem areas within this past year. Did you procrastinate often? Were you organized to allow for success to happen? If so, for 2010, search for a great day planner that will allow for great organization and avoid serious distractions. Set up your office so it is functional and to ensure good organizational flow. You can always get a book on Feng Shui for the office.

Now that we are a bit more organized for the new year, it is time to go through our goals on what it is that we would like to accomplish. What are realistic, but BIG goals you want to achieve? Got them? Great! Now write down your goals on a really nice piece of stationary. You can write it as a letter to yourself and put it in an envelope. Write on the envelope, to be opened in 2011. Hide your envelope in your sock drawer or pin it up where you can see it so you will remember.

Now it is time to put a picture to your vision by creating your vision board. Search out pictures in magazines or take pictures of yourself with what you desire. Create a well laid out collage onto a large board. Ensure that your vision board does scream chaos. Have it neat and tidy, because if your dreams are all cluttered, that will reflect in your results.

Join a mastermind group. Mastermind groups are fantastic for keeping you accountable and to be encouraged by other like minded individuals who genuinely want for you to succeed. You can find them in your area or you can even start one yourself. There are also some great mastermind groups online where you can meet like minded individuals all over the globe.

Start reading. It is important to begin to educate and prepare yourself mentally and the best way to do that is through some great reading material. Feed your mind with successful information and your mind will not be able to do anything else but reflect the information it has been given. Having said this, avoid negative information from reading horrible stories in the newspapers and other forms of media.

Make a commitment before the first day of the year. Instead of waiting for the beginning of the year, sign up to the gym now and find a good work out buddy to help you keep yourself accountable. Educate yourself on how to eat healthy and apply it to your every day routine. A healthy body will allow for a healthy mind.

Feeling prepared for the New Year before it arrives will allow for success to come easier and will give you a fantastic head start. Make the year 2010 be the best year yet and let your dreams become your reality.
