Here's 4 tips for increasing self-confidence in you.
1. Visualize yourself doing really well at the things you lack confidence in
It is well documented that your subconscious mind does not know the difference between real situations that happen, and ones that you only imagined. You can use this principle by imagining the ideal outcome of the scenarios that you need confidence in.
Picture the very moment that your visualisation becomes success. How are you feeling? What are people's reactions? Before you attempt anything that you lack confidence in, imagine success first. This tricks your mind into making you more confident! :D
2. Forget about perfection
As a person, you're not perfect - just like the rest of us! It is impossible to be perfect, or do things perfectly, so it is best to just accept this as part of being human.
People who strive for perfection tend to get disappointed when they make errors, and the disappointment robs them of their confidence. In order to have ever increasing self-confidence, you'll need to learn to accept or even enjoy the day to day errors you make, because they happen to everyone.
3. Write down the things you've achieved
We often forget just how much we have achieved. Write down everything you've achieved, no matter how small or insignificant you think it is. Spend 10 minutes doing this because not everything will come to mind at once.
Once your list is written, take a look over it. What you'll find is that you are so much more capable than you think you are. You have the capability to succeed however you like. Having looked at these achievements you should realise that the only hurdle in front of your success is how much you believe you can succeed.
Writing down the things you've achieved shows you an accurate view of how capable you are. If you can realise your capability, you'll be increasing self confidence. You can even repeat these out-loud to yourself as Confidence Affirmations - which I have explained how to do at my own site.
4. Don't compare yourself to others
If you compare your own achievements to someone else's, you're shooting yourself in the foot because you and they have different natural strengths and weaknesses.
You can only improve upon what you were before. What other people are doing quite honestly does not matter. This is about you, and your growth. You'll be able to have ever increasing self confidence if you only make comparisons to your own previous abilities. Perhaps you're not so sure just how confident you are? Making a Confidence Level Calculation can certainly help.
