“Body and mind are one.… The body is the actual outward manifestation, in physical space, of the mind.” ~Candance B. Perth
Today, I want to share with you some reflections that came up after a short trip this past weekend. As many of you know, my “formal professional” studies revolved around both clinical and holistic nutrition. Not many people are aware about my passion for evolution and consciousness, which is why people usually ask me questions about nutrition.
I know many of you may have the same questions, which is the reason why I’m sharing this story today….
So, as I was sitting in a restaurant, someone asked me: “Is it true that sugar harms your body?”, and then someone else asked me: “What type of diet do you recommend to keep fit and slim?”…. After hesitating about the kind of answer I wanted to give, these words flowed out of me: “It is not so much the food that will affect you, but it is you fears and beliefs about food will have the most impact on your body”. Let me explain…
Within a Newtonian perspective, we may think that the food is the cause of an effect, but the advances made in quantum physics reveal that the material world is an optical illusion. We are not solely what we see. There is abundant scientific evidence that our thoughts and emotions directly affect our physical form. Although the world appears to be static to the naked eye and our bodies appear to be solid and dense, we are constantly moving and fluctuating.
Our bodies are affected at the subatomic level with our participation. This means that you have the ability to co-create with your thoughts, emotions and beliefs. These are the catalysts that tell your cells where to go, what to do and how to get there. They literally rearrange your physical form. As magnetizers, they draw your body into its perfect proportion or away from it.
Our thoughts and emotions will always meet our expectations. And in the case of food, for example, you might believe that cookies make you gain weight, so it logically follows that your body will be reorganizing around this expectation. Rather than releasing unneeded energy automatically, your body will begin to hold onto it.
Can you know see that it is not so much the food that will affect your weight?
The secret to changing your body does not lie in a special diet, some strange foods, rigorous exercise or magic supplement. It lies within yourself, in the power of your own mind.
I want to be clear that I am not advocating in any way that it is advisable to eat junk food, to stuff yourself and not exercise (although there are cases in which actually doing this for a period of time may be the healthiest thing to do). I love being physically active and eating what is nourishing.
What I am trying to make clear is the distinction about the connection between food and weight, not food and health. But the beauty is that the more you evolve and expand your consciousness, you will be naturally drawn to those foods that make you feel good at all levels, and that relationship will keep evolving for the rest of your life.
Are you surprised by these words? Are you currently struggling with your thoughts and beliefs around food? I’d love to hear from you, so leave your comments below…
In awe and gratitude,
Monica
