It’s been a long time coming, and after years of debate and political wrangling by James Zadroga, people suffering from 9/11-related illnesses were finally guaranteed healthcare in January 2011. James Zadroga was a 34 year old police officer of the New York Police Department, who lost his life to a cancer that he has contracted by participating in the 9/11 rescue operations. However, before dying, he bought the plight of his co-suffers, in front of the eyes of the government of the United States of America and made sure some important measures were being taken to bring adequate relief to them. And finally, in January 2011, almost 10 years after the Twin Towers fell, the government passed the James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act. This act insured financial and medical provisions for responders and survivors sickened from exposure to toxic ground zero dust. According to senior government authorities and sincere Zadroga Lawyers, this bill, an initiation by James Zadroga, sends out a great message to everybody,-that good deeds done for the betterment of the nation do not go in vain and any troubles caused to the citizen as a result will always be taken care of and compensated by the government. The James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act is a $4.3 billion bill. This bill, thanks to the federally guaranteed funds, allows all the first sufferers of the 9/11 World Trade Centre Attack, to file claims for five years and collect benefits for six years, which includes the lawyer fees at 10 percent, and reimburses medical claims at the rate of 140 percent. The compensation thus provided also covers wages and other economic losses of sickened workers and residents. Besides the tangible benefits, this bill also guarantees the patients absolute peace of mind, that comes from the assurance that their treatment won’t be cut off abruptly and completely shouldered by the compensation provided. Thanks to the relentless efforts and motivation of the great martyr James Zadroga, the James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act today has a stable funding source to plan ahead, track cancers and other chronic illnesses persistent amongst the rescue and recovery workers and community survivors of the devastating 9/11 attack. Authorities on the team passing the bill claim that none of this could have been possible without the selfless initiative of James Zadroga. However after his demise, many responsible citizens have come forward to openly support this cause. These citizens, grateful to the heroic deeds of these rescue and relief team workers, believe that this James Zadroga Act was much-needed, and a long overdue federal program. They vouch to do all that they can and certainly keep any discrimination at bay, to help give these brave hearts a smoother runway ahead. Amongst these good citizens are a group of Zadroga Lawyers, who are well versed in the James Zadroga Act and help the victims get their deserved compensation from the government. These lawyers operate on a ‘no win- no fees’ principal and do everything possibly under their abilities to ensure that these victims get the justice they rightfully deserve. The government passed the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act in order to provide aid and relief to the brave workers, who jeopardized their lives while saving many others during the devastating fall of the Twin Towers.
