James Zadroga is the brave martyr of the WTC attack

Every nation always does have a set of great heroes that it looks up to. And for the United States of America, James Zadroga is one of them. James Zadroga, a 34 year old police officer of the New York Police Department, lost his life to cancer. He contractedthis life-taking disease while volunteering in the 9/11 rescue operations, after the terrorizing attack on the World Trade Centre. He spent all his years of illness fighting with the government for the rights of all those who had suffered in the 9/11 WTC attack and the James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act of 2011 was the outcome of all his efforts. The James Zadroga Act provided death benefits to Ground Zero workers, who lost their lives to cancer or respiratory diseases, as a result of being exposed to toxics during the 9/11 recovery efforts. This act also provides for current patients, suffering from any 9/11 related health conditions. Besides the above two categories, residents of the World Trade Center area, as well as students attending school and people employed in the area during the 9/11 terrorist attack, are also provided for under this program. Benefits include both health monitoring as well as financial aid. The James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act, respectfully named after the hero himself, is indeed a very enlightening gesture. It sets a great example to fellow American citizens and influences and encourages them to come forward, contribute and fulfill their responsibility towards their nation and fellow citizens. Thanks to James Zadroga, the compensation that this act allows, today provides great relief and comfort to many suffering from critical ailments as a result of the 9/11 attack. This act and the spirit of James Zadroga has given many traumatized victims the hope to get well and be able to see another tomorrow. Not only does this aid improve the financial make –up of a victim’s life, but it also offers great mental re-assurance and stability to him. Positive changes such as these are said to have an improving impact on the patient’s health and further gives a boost to the medical frate ity who are investing selflessly for the better health of these patients. Every since the passing of this act, America has also witnessed a change in its attitude towards victims of the attack. Awareness and responsibility has made many good citizens of America sit up and take notice of all those who are helpless and suffering. Not only have many responsible citizens come forward to openly support the cause, but several also believe that this Act was much-needed, and a long overdue federal program. These people encourage and help the victims and ensure there is no discrimination against them. James Zadroga has paved the way to huge relief for all Americans like him who are suffering from diseases related to the 9/11 WTC attack.
