In order to be successful in marketing our services or products we have to make a strong first impression. Successful people have busy days, and you need to be precise and concise to get their attention.

We cannot always create an opportunity for a face to face connection, but we can connect through our words. Writing a book is time consuming and takes a great deal of marketing. One alternative to making that great first impression is through article writing.

Your life experience can be your goldmine of ideas and expertise that can help others. Even if you have done nothing with your life to this point you can write about it, sharing with others the impact your choices have made in your life. No matter what you write about keep it focused and simple, and stick to one point.

Choose one concept to share in your article. If you are plumber you might write about DIY plumbing and jurisdictional code, or the difference between copper and pvc pipes. Taking this micro approach gives you room to make your article concise, simple, and understandable.

Use care in writing your title, and always keep your title in alignment with your article content. If you write the title first, and find yourself headed in a different direction then use that original title as a topic for another article project, and rewrite so that you keep the readers attention and trust.

When you write an article you are teaching your audience. It does not matter what you are sharing, whether it is the steps in a task or a thought provoking statement you are helping them expand their consciousness. Keep it simple and they will have a greater chance at understanding your viewpoint, and if you serve them well they will return.

Your articles can be a powerful demonstration of your knowledge and experience whether you are the janitor or the CEO. Article writing can demonstrate that you think about what you are doing, and show the world the professional that lives within.
