If you're looking to build your network marketing business fast, you need a steady supply of leads, as well as an effective marketing system to expose your contacts to your list.
There are thousands of ways that leads can be generated both on and off the internet, and one of the most popular is purchasing MLM genealogy leads lists. It is my intent to briefly discuss the ethical question of MLM genealogy lists as well as to speak of the positives and negatives of doing this sort of thing.
First, though, you may not be completely aware of what an MLM genealogy lead is. Basically, when a MLM company goes out of business, many times they will sell the personal information of all of their distributors to the highest bidder. Then, people who purchase the genealogy lists sell them to anyone who will buy them over the internet. Sometimes, genealogy leads can be purchased for distributors who are actively involved with a current MLM company. These leads are obtained illegally, in breach of privacy policy's and non disclosure agreements - where someone hacks into a MLM company computer, or a leader sells the personal contact information for all of their downline.
The first thing that I want to mention about genealogy leads lists is that it is unethical to purchase them if you intend on building your business with integrity. In addition, most of these people are simply irritated to hear from you - they did not 'opt in' to receive any kind of information from you, did they? Usually, their information was sold to you through a long series of unethical personal information sharing networks, and if you email them you are breaking federal SPAM laws that can get you hefty fines from the FTC. I would just say that this is not the smartest way to market your business.
In addition, the process of attempting to sponsor new team members from genealogy leads is so painful that almost no one in their right mind would do it. However, you may be the kind of person who doesn't care and can handle being told 'get me off of your list' over and over again. You might want to scrub the list against the 'DO NOT CALL' database, as well if you don't want to pay the government any hefty fines.
As you can see, buying MLM genealogy leads is not the smartest business decision. So why do people do it?
We've already talked about how most distributors in the MLM business simply don't have the kind of contacts to really be successful. My view is that instead of putting the work that's required to create these leads in an ethical way, they look for a 'quick fix' solution. Eventually after searching online for 'cheap leads' and 'free leads' they run into one of the various WebPages selling a fast solution - 'buy our genealogy leads' they say - and you eventually fall prey to temptation.
After hundreds of hours of pounding the phone - they soon find otherwise.
There is a better way - visit the resource box on this page and visit the link to find out how you can create your own leads and never buy a stupid list again.
To briefly conclude, purchasing any form of lists from genealogy companies will only waste massive amounts of your time. I apologize, I just realized I didn't mention even one positive aspect about buying these kinds of leads...
...That's because there isn't any.
