Over the years one repeated criticism of my work has been about the emphasis that I have placed upon cosmology in my teaching and application of numerology. I am particularly saddened by the superficiality and ignorance of those calling themselves numerologists who have chosen to belabor this point.
I have many times spoken about and written about the massive influence upon my work from the book entitled The Cosmic Doctrine by Dion Fortune. It is said to have been channeled in 1923 from one who in a previous life time was a world famous philosopher. I have been candid in my opinion that the source could very well have been Pythagoras.
Around the mid to late 1980’s I read a popular science book called Superforce (The Search for the Grand Unified Theory of Nature) by British physicist Paul Davies. It was written in near layman’s terms and was a view of the current thinking of quantum physics and some astrophysics at the time. I was struck with the remarkable similarity in thought and structure between this earlier tome and the hot topic of the day. Although written in different vocabularies and from a different perspective, they mirrored each other to an extraordinary degree. AND, much of what was said in the former was virtually repeated in the latter.
Even in more recent years I have been watching the latest thoughts of cosmologists on the science channel. There were statements like, and cosmologists are just learning that……..!! Interestingly the “that” was more than once foreshadowed in The Cosmic Doctrine, and I found myself chuckling with the thought that,” oh, they finally figured that out”!
It was the contemplation and meditation upon the concepts presented in Doctrine that lifted me into a transpersonal soul journey I took through the cosmos around the same time in my life. I traveled back though time, space, wormholes, multiple dimensions and galactic creations to a moment of being radiated out in a primal burst of initial cosmic manifestation! I then journeyed again through galaxies and wormholes and passage through the planets of our solar system. Finally, I found myself back here on terra firma. It was like a living conformation of the Doctrine.
Through a somewhat esoteric and at times very abstract nomenclature The Cosmic Doctrine reveals a very simple and fundamental process of cosmic, galactic, systemic, planetary and human story of evolution. The reader is left with a better grasp of the basis of color, sound, the DNA strand, math and simple things like that. More important to students of the deeper wisdoms, perhaps, it provides insights to the cosmic and living dynamics of astrology, the Kabbalah, the I-Ching, tarot and NUMEROLOGY!
AND finally, most important to all of us, perhaps, is that it yields a very enlightened clue as to the origin and nature of the first circle (0) zero, along with the first tangant (straight line) or number 1. The initial makings of the great cosmic code!
I rest my case.

Author's Bio:

Lynn Buess MA, EdS brings a very unique background to his fifty plus years study and practice of numerology, healing and wellness innovator. During his earlier years he studied multiple theories of esoteric and metaphysical subjects including eastern religion and philosophies, reincarnation, astrology, and yogism to mention a few. His academic years in pursuit of three degrees in Psychology took him into humanistic psychology, transpersonal psychology and parapsychology studies as well. He is the only numerologist with two accredited post graduate degrees focused upon numerology and symbolism.
This academic experience, along with personal studies and mystical events and glimpse into cosmic consciousness, has given him an extraordinary perspective into the understanding of human psychology and experience. As a one time practicing psychotherapist and alternative wellness practitioner, he applied the art of multiple healing modalities in seeking to practice the most efficient techniques of healing and well being.
Lynn’s experience of practice in numerous nationalities adds to his scope of human nature and depth of insight into generations of family dysfunction and growth. Having come from a family of alcoholism and other toxic patterns he was eventually introduced to the issues of Adult Children of Alcoholism and the multiple dysfunctions of alcohol, drugs, sexual and codependent behavior. Much of his practice dealt with these common social behavior patterns.
Lynn served as a military intelligence special agent during his early adulthood. His experience conducting thousands of background investigations and performing the duties of security and counter espionage taught him to recognize many hidden irregularities and deceptive practices used by institutions and people in the position to misuse and abuse power. Having this professional investigative background enables him to identify issues that are frequently unrecognized or ignored by members of the general public.
This unique and varied cornucopia of internal mystical experiences and external life circumstances is reflected in the vastly expanded viewpoint he brings to the field of numerology and his wellness professionalism. Lynn is able to examine numerical cycles and deftly apply then in analyzing individual intervals of life circumstance, or national and international events taking place in the world around us.
