Producer Rebecca Wang Endorses Elton John Foundation for 2nd Year

Elton John has garnered support from some of the world’s most philanthropic icons in the entertainment industry and with the recent endorsement of internationally-based Producer Rebecca Wang, continues to add to that distinguished list.

A benefactor at the 19th Annual Oscar Viewing Party in 2011, Rebecca Wang will be resuming her position for a second-straight year as she will publicly endorse the Elton John AIDS Foundation again in 2012. This annual event has taken place since 1992 and has been a showcase of elegance and generosity for two decades and counting.

Rebecca Wang, based out of London and Los Angeles, is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, former psychotherapist, and executive producer. Her most recent work, Passion Play, features a slew of celebrated actors including Academy Award Nominees Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) and Bill Murray (Lost in Translation), accompanied by actress Megan Fox (Transformers. Her previous charitable efforts have spanned health, humanitarian aid, and education in the arts, making her a perfect fit with Elton’s crusade. Ms. Wang, an avid supporter of organizations such as the International Red Cross, British Red Cross, and the Prince’s Drawing School, is delighted to support the EJAF for a second year.

A prelude to arguably the most important night in the entertainment industry, this annual event has generated buzz for nearly two decades as Hollywood’s most iconic stars gather to bring in the Academy Awards by donating their time and money to fight the epidemic of HIV/AIDS. This glamorous event attracts stars from all facets of the industry.

Other notable donators have included Jane Fonda, Sting, Billie Jean King, Sharon Stone and Stevie Wonder among others. The 20th Annual Oscar Viewing Party is set to take place at the Pacific Design Centre in Los Angeles, February 26th, 2012.

Elton John pioneered one of the world’s most prolific and respected non-profits for the HIV/AIDS community in 1992, vowing to hold an annual Oscar Viewing Party to raise money for his cause until the disease is cured. To-date, EJAF has raised over $200 million to help battle HIV/AIDS.
