Why else enter Chiropractic school other than an appeal for the profession’s approach to health and you’re interest in a natural approach that is true health care and not disease care, illness intervention and condition control?
But how many Chiropractors go to Chiropractic school with hidden agendas in mind?
Further, how many Chiropractors in practice today are quite happy to be a Chiropractor and practice Chiropractic simply according to its professional definition?
As much as the degree earned in Chiropractic school is “Doctor of Chiropractic”, “D.C.”, why do so many Chiropractors have the need to emulate medical doctors by practicing according to a medical model instead of according to their own profession’s (Chiropractic’s) model and have a need to be called a “chiropractic physician”? The term “Physician”, to most people, denotes an M.D., which a Chiropractor is not nor should have any desire to be like nor feel any need to.
Why do so many Chiropractors use everything but the kitchen sink in their practices – physical therapy, electric therapy machines, rehab, nutrition, taping, etc. – and allow their patients to be misinformed and mislead into thinking that all this other stuff is Chiropractic? All this other stuff outside of locating and adjusting subluxations is what’s known as non-Chiropractic modalities and is simply “allowed in the scope of practice of Chiropractic”. But that is far different than the professional definition of Chiropractic, which IS what Chiropractic is and is about.
With so many Chiropractors alligning their practices to cooperate with personal injury attorneys and orienting their practices of this ilk, is it no wonder that such cases are now being targeted by legislators in attempts to severely reduce or even eliminate Chiropractic coverage and the Chiropractor-attorney abuses under these cases?
Why are so few Chiropractors simply satisfied with being called “Chiropractors” and simply practicing Chiropractic’s specialty, adjusting spinal subluxations?
Is it that far too many Chiropractors today suffer from an inferiority complex about being a Chiropractor and being called a “Chiropractor”?
Do they suffer from "inadequacy complexes" feeling that practicing Chiropractic simply according to the professional definition of Chiropractic and its model of care is in some way inadequate in helping the patient?
Adjusting subluxations has a profoundly positive effect on the nervous system and neurology of the body. Albiet "subtle", but profoundly positive, healthy and "health-ful". How can one possibly have feelings of inadequacy about this?
Those in the medical profession who specialize in a particular discipline do not stray from focusing on that discipline. They endeavor to be the best that they can in it.
Many Chiropractors should take notice and do the same.
