It was anticipated that the thirty year old draught will see an end when Real Quiet raced the three legs of the Triple Crown convincingly making way for an invincible victory with every leg. His defeat in the Belmont Stakes is still considered s one of the worst jockeying by a rider on such a crucial occasion. It’s been more than 33 years now that a thoroughbred has been awarded the Triple Crown, and the search continues.
Util he finally found ground, Real Quiet, sired by Quiet American and dam Really Blue, it took him more than seven races to get comfortable with the racing tracks and real tournaments. Buut having done that, he came as close to winning the Triple Crown as was needed to win it almost bridging the gap of thirty long years. With two third place finishes at the Indian Nations Futurity Cup and the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes, Real Quiet also won a staggering one million in the Hollywood Futurity.
When the next season set off for the three year olds, Real Quiet entered the Triple Crown challenge with certainty. While the Derby and the Preakness posed no difficulty as such, the Belmont Stakes slipped right from under his nose by Victory Gallop when the former deleted Real Quiet by a mere sneak of nostrils well past beyond the finish line. The year 1998 was the third decade of a lost Triple Crown that eventually declared Real Quiet as the Eclipse Award winner for the champion horse of the year.
Affectionately referred to as ‘The Fish’, owing to his steam lined frame; Real Quiet started in his four year old season with a bang as he won the Pimlico Special and also the Hollywood Gold Cup. This season he maintained all five starts finishing in the money. He finished second to Littlebitlively in the grade 3 Texas Mile Stakes and second to Precocity in the New Orleans Handicap. Massachusetts Handicap, a grade 2 event witnessed the Preakness winner finishing third to Behrens and Running Stag.
Trained by Bob Baffert, Real Quiet was also participated in the Breeder’s which he unfortunately was injured during the race which also impacted the remaining season for the colt taking him off the racing fields. He was soon returned to duty to stand stud following a fractured splint bone which also put an end to his racing career and marked the beginning of his pedigree with produces like Real Spicy and Pussycat Doll. His colt, Midnight Lute, won the La Brea Stakes and Humana Distaff Handicap.
Real Quiet continues to romp on the racing arena with free online horse games that are being provided by the online game designer giants Horse Racing Simulation. The team with its expertise in game designing and animation along with its penchant for the sport have come forward with its 3D simulated version that boasts of incredible graphics and a thriving database with more than thousands of simulated horses exhibiting their real subjects’ characteristics with absolute accuracy and precision.
