Often I hear people say I want to live a good life. So this makes one stop and think . What makes a good life? Is it going to church every day; is it meditating for a certain length of time; is it helping others; is it spending time with our families; our friends and extended family; is it setting a good example to our peers, co-workers, children; is it serving meals to the homeless; is it volunteering in a hospice; is it pledging a certain amount of money to non-profit organizations; is it living without material goods; is being a vegetarian a part of spirituality; is it always turning the other cheek; or a great number of other things.
1. To me what living a good life is learning to feel comfortable in the world that you have created for yourself.
2. For one thing feeling happy about who and what you are 99% of the time.
3. Always keeping an open mind about investigating and having a willingness to accept the lives and beliefs of others.
4. Never judging another for their choices.
5. Unconditional love and support., if someone that you know personally of know of is going through a rough time, practicing being supportive.
6. Never feeling angry.
7. When something happens, learning to deal with the circumstances as best you can.
8. Never blaming others for the life you are living or have created.
9. Never allowing ourself to worry or have any fears about some any one thing or circumstance.
10. Eliminating the feeling of stress or that I am rushing to get anywhere or do anything, ever. This sometimes mean that we communicate and tell others if they have a way of trying to get us into their choas or panic. Stress is one of the greatest blocks to felling that wonderful inner peace, we all seek.
11. Being patient with myself and others.
12. Never feeling that I am a door mat, or allowing my self to do anything or go any where that I truly do not want to be.
13. Feeling that you have the faith and trust that the universe, spirit, God or Buddha what ever name you call your creator always provides, leads and is a co-director of life, because we have learned to tune in and listen the tiny voice with-in.
14. One of the most important parts of finding your true spirituality is not feeling disappointed about the position of your life that you are in and have chosen. Knowing that if you open up you channels to communicating with your higher self, you will find the doorways to change that you need to open.
15. Feeling good about your body. I do not believe that we have to be strict vegetarians or to be what some call purists. Because the one single item that truly needs to be pure in our human beingness is our heart, and secondly our mind. Some human beings bodies require different types of maintenance. As long as one is not our of control with their eating, or drinking, because we will find that we go through different types of cycles in our lifetime, our higher consciousness when we listen will tell us when we are out of control.
16. Placing value in our ability to practice our own beliefs, living every day learning to be a more spiritual person.
The important feeling of knowing no matter what our current circumstances in life are we are no greater than or less than any other soul on this planet Earth. We are all connected and we are ONE. We are all an accumulation of all that we have come in contact with. Treat others as you would have them treat you. Be loving patient kind and generous, because everything you give comes back to you ten fold.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
"It is one of the most beautiful compensations in life that no person can sincerely try to help another, without helping themselves
