To be successful, it takes a motivated individual who has set goals and is willing to follow through with these goals. To reach the top and succeed in your purpose, I believe that setting goals is very important. Here are some tips and pointers on why setting goals is key for success.

Setting goals is fairly straightforward, but it is important to lay out the strategy. When setting goals, it should be more than just thinking about them. To be successful in setting goals, write them down on a piece of paper and hang that piece of paper on the wall. This will keep your goals front and center, and will allow you to have them in the front of your mind every time you see that piece of paper. Another way to keep yourself accountable is to share our goals with friends and family. If you want to lose weight, then say to your friends, "I am going to lose 10 pounds in the next two months." As time progresses, your friends and family will ask about how you are doing on your goals and want to help. With this support, the grind becomes a little easier.

Writing down your goals on a piece of paper will make them feel real. Sharing your goals with others will keep you accountable and motivated.

I am a big fan of setting goals short term and long term. Short term goals include things like cleaning your room, paying the bills, and things that are on a week to week basis. This could even be something like not spending money during the week, so that you can go out during the weekend. Long term goals include things like saving money for a car or house, losing weight, and learning a skill. It is important to write down the short term goals and long term goals on the same page. Also, you can have sub-goals inside of the long term goals. These could include specific goals necessary for completing the bigger goal. By chipping away at the short term and long term goals, you will be able to get more done and get closer to the bigger and better prize at the end of the road.

Setting definite goals is what is most important and necessary for success. What do you would be more likely to follow through with: I am going to lose 10 pounds in 2 months or I am going to lose weight? The second goal is too vague, however I do know people who benefit from goals like these. But, I think that the first goal is much better so that people can visualize what is necessary to be completed. 1 pound a week for 10 weeks is not unheard of and by writing this goal down and having short term goals (going to the gym 3-4 times a week) and your long term goal (lose 10 pounds), you will definitely achieve success!

To recap:

Set definite goals

Write down your goals on a piece of paper and share these goals with friends and family

Work on your short term and long term goals

Achieve your goals after chipping away over time and become successful!!

Bottom Line:

By setting goals, you will have a clear picture into what you want and how to achieve it.
