Hints For How To Get Rid Of The Emotional and Spiritual Wounds
Today's lesson reviews the concept of forgiveness. I'll be discussing 7 mental exercises to increase your awareness and to help you in ridding yourself of the old anger, the pain, and the distraction that carrying around a grudge can do.
The primary method is an 'awareness' tool.
One. Think about what gave you the hurt. Was it words, deeds done, one thing not said, not done, not felt, what? What was it that lit the fuse?
2. The next thing is to ask of your inner self WHY it brings about in you hurt. Was a confidence betrayed? Were you rejected on some level? Have your hopes been crushed? Think of the way that discomfort shows itself.
3. Think about or allow your emotions to go towards the person who ‘did‘ this. From where was it coming? What buttons ended up being pushed on his/her part? Why did it happen?
4. Place yourself in that person's situation. Maybe you have ever carried out anything similar to that? Could you maybe envision, given the things you know of that person's life experience, at any time doing anything equivalent? Are you capable of, without condoning what they've done, perhaps realize that person's behavior a little? Maybe you have at any time cut another car off on the freeway? Have you ever before spoken without thinking or stated anything that came out not as intended?
5. Request your self what your role in the circumstance was. Had you been reacting out of some of your very own pain? Might there have been one thing you stated or did that understandably caused one other person's pain? Would you have accomplished a thing in a different way should you have recognized the outcome?
Six. Choose to take accountability for your individual position. Do you need to apologize? Can you forgive yourself? Take a moment to, shut your eyes and picture a soap bubble in front of you.
