“Dental problems are often overlooked,” says Dr. Gurz, a Dentist in Diamond Bar, CA. He explains that patients usually wait till the pain is unbearable, “coming in when you are sure something is wrong is not going to help your cause.” The mouth is a very sensitive area and a lot is going on inside, the saliva being produced is neutralizing the mouth acids while protecting the enamel from decay. However, good dental health is only ensured through proper hygiene. Dr. Gurz highlights the need forregular brushing and flossing, “Our food intake has changed drastically over the last few decades. We are consuming more complex solids like jellies and washing it down with carbonated beverages. Food debris can accumulate around the base or get stuck in the crevices. Brushing and flossing regularly helps the mouth dispose of these remains and control other bacteria.”

Dr. Gurz has been practicing as a dentist in diamond bar for last decade and a half. He talks about the surge in cosmetic dentistry and how it could help foster better hygiene itself, “Cosmetic dentistry is quickly becoming popular here. Most of the clients coming in want their teeth bleached or have veneers put in. People want their smiles to make an impression,” he adds, “However, most cosmetic procedures can be costly and despite the progress in the medical field porcelain is no substitute for natural enamel.” Regular visitation and dental planning can help avoid the need for such procedures which is why most dentists urge their patients to be more self-aware in practicing good hygiene,“It is the key to stronger teeth and a beautiful smile,”pronounces the diamond bar dentist.

Procedures like periodontal scaling can help maintain dental health, “I believe in preventive care and I preach the same to my patients. Given the prevailing lifestyle, most of us tend to overlook the details and that is not very helpful. I recommend patients to regulate their eating habits and visit the dentist at least once a year for their scaling,” says Dr. Gurz. Dental problems can augment over time and affect our daily lives, “I have patients coming in with gum and teeth problems who have become accustomed to the pain itself. They cannot chew properly or drink something that is not temperate,” Dr. Gurz concluded by saying that, “Good dental hygiene can become the core of your personality and can help people achieve more in their personal and professional lives.”
