The Chakra System: How to Care and Maintain Them - Three Levels

In the previous article, 'Chakras – What Are They and Why Are They So Important?', the focus was centred on what the Chakras are, how they work and why paying conscious attention to their maintenance is integral to a better life. In this article, we will be looking at the three levels of Chakra maintenance. Looking after your chakra system well can make a significant difference for anyone, however, if you work with people on a daily basis, especially if you are in a caring or healing role (for example nursing, teaching, healing, shop work), your energy gets pulled out of alignment every day as your focus is on others. To cleanse and re-align your energy with your self on a daily basis will make a huge difference to your life.

In a broad sense, there are three levels of Chakra Maintenance and Care.

1. The first level is Self Maintenance. At this level you are taking responsibility for your Chakra System on a regular basis, in the same way you shower, wash your hair and brush your teeth. There are many ways to do this, the most effective involving visualisation and other Mind-Based techniques to cleanse, balance and align the chakras both individually and as a system. You do not need to have huge psychic powers to do this, and if you struggle with using your imagination, there are other options, but more about that later.
2. The second level is General Treatments. These are usually offered through beauty and massage salons, many Reiki practitioners and other healers and health practitioners offer a range of treatments designed to balance, align and attune your chakra system, restoring it to its healthy balanced state. This is great for most situations, a quick tune-up by a professional leaves you feeling great and keeps you balanced and grounded (if done well). Please note that when looking for a good Chakra Balancing or Chakra Clearing treatment, make sure that the therapist knows what the chakra system is. As Chakra Treatments have become increasingly popular, there are some Beauty Salons and Massage Therapists, who whilst offering the Treatments, don't even know what a Chakra is. A good indication of a therapist who is more likely to know something about the energy system is if they are a qualified Reiki practitioner (or another Energy healing practitioner) of at least level one.
3. The third level is Energy Surgery Treatments. Energy Surgery is specialised treatments by practitioners who are well versed in the human energy system and can delve into the chakras, removing problems, repairing damage and otherwise restoring the health of a damaged system. This work is about deep level change in your life. If you are unable to push past an issue, if you are not living the life you want or if you are under psychic attack, this work may be ideal for you. It is not usually short term work, so if you are going to do this, make sure you are committed. Many shamans and other High Level Healers are well versed in this work. It is important to pay attention when you are selecting the healer you will be working with. When reading their information or talking to them, make sure they feel genuine to you, and that you feel 'right' about this. It's not so much about promises theyr'e making, but about whether they gel with you. For most practitioners, this work can be done long distance, over the phone or the internet without any loss of power and effectiveness. Some practitioners will even teach you some of the simpler work you can do to look after your own system, which can be a real gift!

The recommendation of the author is this. Learn some basic self maintenance tools, have a guided Chakra Meditation that you can use every now and then and about once every one or two months, treat your self to a great Chakra Treatment from a Reiki practitioner or massage therapist. If you decide that you want to go deeper or need some help to get past something that is blocking you in some aspect of your life, then it's worth looking into Energy Surgery.
