As the new day dawns, we dream of our accomplishments for the day. Somewhere in the world a runner reaches the finish line, a baby takes their very first step. A child stands nervous at the podium; he knows how to spell, but feels intimidated by the crowd. With outstretched arms and smiles of joy, we welcome family and friends.
As this day draws to an end, people have pushed their comfort zones to their limits. Some have had to be strong and carry the burdens of others. Someplace in the world someone is trying to get comfortable, but longing to be home.
This day has taught us what hope and courage truly are. Some are fighting hurdles that others only see as a nightmare. Inner strength has prevailed and you made it through one of your toughest days. Mothers put food on the table and clean dirty wounds. Fathers race home from work to coach ball games. Grandmothers welcome babies with open arms and loving hearts.
As the day closes, most will remember while some will forget. Some will feel pain when they try to move. Each day is a page in your book. Some of those pages are full of fun and laughter, while others have left a scar, a wound that you long to heal. It is not the pages that have been filled that matter most. Sure, you can go back and re-read your pages, and learn from people and experiences from your past. But the best part of your book is the page that you are writing today. All the blank pages you have yet to fill need to be full of inner strength, growth and fun.
Turn the page in the morning when you awake. How would you like your page to read? If each day finds you at peace, and you realize the true beauty of other people, and you are humbled by this thing called life, your pages will be full of a beauty all their own.
As I turn my page and start anew. I think how everything is connected. I think about what was and what will be. I live in this moment and my heart and soul is content.
No-one can tell you what to write in your page. In your lifetime you will be both, a follower and a leader. Drown out the voices of others and lead the way down your own path. Be with those who will teach you the beauty of love, and remain hopeful for those who don’t know what it feels like. Every person has their own dream. Your dream might not make sense to someone else; so don’t take someone else’s comments or criticism to heart, they might only be envisioning their own dream.
