Generally speaking, a life coach is a professional who will help you make a change in your life or help you reach a goal. They are a motivator and their goal is help you reach the goal or make the change in the most effective, rewarding, and efficient way possible. Life coaching jobs can fall into many different niches that can include:

Professional life coach

They will help guide you to make decisions that pertain to your professional life. This life coach may teach you what behaviors you need to modify or change at work to get along better with the boss and coworkers. Life coaching sessions may entail working toward improving your professional skills to prepare for a promotion or making a decision about a career change.

Personal life coach

They work with people on different personal matters such as getting through a divorce, losing a loved one and the grieving process, etc. They also work with people and helping them deal with family issues, self-esteem, managing the breakup of a relationship, couple issues, and more. There are some situations where there is a blurred line between professional and personal life coaching because some professional issues may affect personal issues and vice versa.

Health life coach

This life coach works with those who are dealing with a major disease or illness. This life coach will work with people to help them overcome the self-pity and sadness that can accompany being diagnosed with a particular illness or disease. They also work with those who are ill and help give them the strength to move, to learn how to accept their fate, to fight the illness, how to accept their fate, and how to live their life to the fullest.

Career life coach

This life coach deals directly with career issues. They may be similar to a professional life coach but there are differences. The career life coach chooses a certain niche such as working in a particular industry like finance professionals. They may also choose to work with a certain level of profession like executive or management level professionals. Other career life coaches work only with entrepreneurs and small business owners to help them work through their career issues because their issues are different from those for a professional who works for a company.

Personal relationship life coach

This life coach works with couples and helps them work through their problems. In some cases, they will only work with one member of the couple. They help the couples learn how to deal with their issues and each other on a positive basis.

Religious Life Coach

This life coach focuses on professional and personal issues from a religious standpoint. The life coach does not have to be ordained.
