The beautiful and sweet fragrances are being loved all around the world. The beautiful scents are extracted from different species of flowers and then mixed together to create unique and amazing aromas. These perfumes vary in prices from cheap and less costly perfumes to the most expensive perfumes in the world. The spectacular and exotic fragrance of perfumes captivates the person for a long time. The whole world is in love with the soothing smells and due to this this, there are many famous brands of perfume which keep introducing new scents that are splendid and unique.
When it comes to Muslims, there are certain things which should be kept in mind before choosing a particular perfume. Since certain brands use ingredients like liquor and alcohol in their perfumes, so one must be very careful when he is about to use a certain perfume. Islam has never stopped anyone from using perfumes but since alcohol is haram in Islam so anything which contains the proportions of alcohol should also be avoided. Often people claim that consuming alcohol inside your body is haram but applying it on external parts of the body is allowed, so they argue that you can apply perfume which has alcohol. There are certain contexts in which alcohol is permissible for external issues for example a medicine having the cure of a deadly disease can be applied even if it has proportions of alcohol but other than that a Haram ingredient should always be avoided.
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has loved sweet fragrances and he use to apply the perfumes which were free from alcohol. You can also call those scents as Itar as they are completely halal and are widely used by Muslims. Muslims often ask the question from Scholars that is it permissible to apply perfume before Namaz. Well they can apply it before Namaz in fact it is Sunnah to apply Itar before Jumma Prayers. Also, if you are performing the Holy obligation of Hajj and Umrah, then once must be in proper dressing of ihram and make sure to apply a halal scent before going in the state of Ihram i.e. not afterwards. Each year numerous pilgrims travel to Saudi Arab to perform Umrah or Hajj by availing the best ever packages like Ramadan Umrah 2017 from Birmingham and others, in order to have the experience of a lifetime. These holy pilgrims should be aware of the basic principles and facts so that they don’t do anything haram.
Applying Itar or halal perfume before going in the state of ihram is totally acceptable and allowed but there are certain issues of applying scent after you have done the get up of Ihram so avoid getting into these issues. It has been narrated in Al-Bukhari that Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to apply a good fragrances perfume on Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the sparkle of that perfume could be seen on his holy beard and head. Although these issues seem very small but if you are not aware of the Islamic principles regarding either small or big issue, then you will never be able to get the full benefit of the blessings of Allah. Surely Allah Almighty is the most Benevolent and he always shower his blessings on those who follow His command rightly.
