Last Monday, I just watched another hair-raising season finale of the Walking Dead.

I watched this series from the beginning and I am always pleased how they usually end its season.
A t.v. series that shows about zombies invading the world is quite new and interesting because you can only watch this kind of theme in a movie. So I watch it with curiosity on how they will deliver this kind of genre in t.v. Surprisingly, I am not only entertained but I learned important lessons in this series.

One of my insight I have gained in watching the Walking Dead is we live in uncertain world so life is always in flux.
In the season 1 of the Walking Dead, when Rick Grimes woke up from being in a coma, everything has change instantly. He was alone and he does not know the whereabouts of his family. A busy, lively, and populated became a quiet, abandoned and scary towns. Corpses are all over the places and the only living creatures roaming were dead people known as Walkers who eat the survivors of the catastrophe.

Sometimes, I imagined being on that situation and I realized that the things we have right now, our family and friends and all that we cherish, when we wake up one day, they may not be here anymore. Today, you are on the summit of your success, tomorrow you are on a rock bottom of your life. We always here that "Nothing is constant in this world". There is nothing in this physical world you can hold on forever. You cannot bring your wealth with you in your grave.

So what is the sense of living in this world if everything is keep on changing and you cannot keep what you have gained?
In Matthew 6:19 - 21 (KJV) stated, " Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The Scriptures is teaching us to focus our life in gaining intangible or spiritual things because it will last forever.

What are these intangible things that we can keep in our hearts and store up in heaven?

Your healthy relationship with others, most especially to your family and friends is more valuable than striving hard to gain money or properties. I am not against in owning plenty of money. I am against when earning more money consumes all your energy but your family relationship suffers . You can use your wealth and money in developing a long-lasting relationship with your love ones.

In the Walking Dead series, money lost its value and worth while their togetherness as a family is what really matter to them all. They have each others back to overcome those walkers who are trying to devour them. They work together in attending each others' needs and they are willing to risk their lives in protecting each other because they are family.
When there is strong relationship, love binds them all together. Love conquers all even the constant change. Your love to your family or friends will never be lost and it will endure any condition because love is not restricted of space and time. The love you gave and you received will never be forgotten; it will never be erased by anything or anyone in this world.
I admire the couple of Maggie and Glenn in the Walking Dead. Their love for each other keep their hopes high that there will be a bright future waiting for them. So they keep on fighting and striving to survive even its seems impossible to outlive their devastating fate. They do not give up for they know they have each other and their love has a staying power for them to make it to the end.
Last, just for now, in the Walking Dead series, I thought that sharing will be the hardest thing to do in that situation. But they show in different episodes that it is possible to share what you have whether it be goods, valuable possessions or even ideas and knowledge for all of them to survive. Sharing is not seasonal; it is not only when you have more, you can give. The essence in sharing is giving even if you do not have enough to give.

Sometimes, we need to go through a cataclysmic situation before we accept the truth that our family and love ones are more important than our possessions. In a catastrophic condition, money cannot buy safety but love can intensify the will to survive especially for your love ones. Moreover, when this kind of holocaust will happen to us, we only have to trust and depend each other; to share what we have for us to overcome this kind of destruction.
These are just my insights I gained and I still have many but I will reserve it for my next article. I know everybody is waiting for the next breathtaking series of the Walking Dead.
