Many of you have heard about the term LNG Loading and Offloading. But most of you would have no idea about the details of this term and what it does.

What is LNG Offloading System?

LNG offloading systems are the technology that is used to transfer the LNG from one ship to another or a ship to shore. The LNG is majorly transferred via LNG carriers and are then moved to re-gasification vessels. There are numerous companies that transfer the LNG from one location to other and perform the entire process of loading & offloading. KLAW LNG is one of the renowned LNG Offloading systems. The team offers LNG ship to ship transfer as well as ship to shore transfer as per the need of the hour. But basically, there are two different ways of offloading the LNG from the carrier vessel to the LNG plant.

Tandem Based LNG Transfer: The tandem based LNG transfer is generally used for crude-oil offloading systems. The tandem LNG offloading system consists of hose reels in the SLS (Stern Lading System) that are installed high. The high installation is to offer a catenary hose configuration to BLC (Bow Loading System) which is present at the bow of LNG carrier. With the tandem based LNG transfer, you are assured of getting high transfer rate with maximum safety and reliability.

During the offloading of LNG from one vessel to other, the separation distance is about 8 meters. Here the offloading process can be easily executed at a wave height of up to 4.5 meters. On contrary, the loading operation can be done easily at a wage speed of up to 5.5 meters.

Tower Based LNG Transfer: When it comes to tower-based LNG transfer, the system is proved with a hose handling boom. The LNG plant is connected to the pipe bridge that has a tower located at its end. The LNG carrier can move closer to the tower that makes it more convenient to transfer LNG from the carrier.

What are the benefits of Using LNG Hose Transfer System?

Cost Effective: Cost is always a major reason behind the use of LNG Hose transfer system. As compared to other means of transport, the seas are considered to be the best and cost-friendly means of transportation.

More Flexible: It's easy and convenient to offload the LNG from one vessel to the shore. That makes it one of the reasons behind selecting this system.

Unconventional Loading Arm System: Dislike to the conventional loading system where you always require heavy and long pipelines to transfer LNG from one place to LNG plant, the unconventional loading arm system has blessed it with an effective support.

Final Verdict: Now, you have understood the concept of the concept of transferring the LNG from one place to other through the seas. The sea is considered to be the safest and cost-friendly means to transfer LNG. Also, the LNG carrier vessels are capable to transfer a high amount of LNG as compared to small transportation means that can be moved via road transport.
