Whiteheads is a very basic problem faced by those who have an oily skin. For others too, whiteheads are something that can occur to anyone, at any point of their life, irrespective of their age. The main reason behind whiteheads is the improper secretion of oil from the skin. The grease glands in our body produce oil which needs to be excreted. But when the pores of our skin are blocked, the oil is not properly excreted, and as a result, it gets accumulated in the pores causing tiny white coloured hard cysts on the skin. These can occur on any part of the body; though they are more common on the face, especially around the nose and the forehead.

Needless to say, for someone who wants to get rid of this problem, basic skin care is a must. You need to ensure that your face and pores are clean at all points of time, so that you do not give an opportunity to the oil to accumulate. You also need to regularly exfoliate your skin, so that the pores do not get clogged. Hence, make sure that you wash your face with water as many times as possible during the day. There is no need to use soap or a cleanser all the time, as the chemical content in them causes the skin to become dry and damaged; just plain water is fine. Also, you need to drink a lot of water to ensure that your body toxins are flushed out from time to time, and that you internal system is running smooth.

At home, you can grate some potatoes and apply them on the face for about 20 minutes. This will help you to get rid of whiteheads very soon, once you start to do it frequently enough. Also, you need to regular provide steam to your face so that the pores can be unclogged and all the accumulated oil and dirt can be cleansed out. For this, you can either buy a steaming machine, or you can simply boil the water in a large pan, bend your head over it, and cover it with a towel to let the steam directly come on your face.

Make sure that you avoid eating junk foods, as well as foods which are too salty, sugary or oily in nature. These will lead to more oil content in your body, which can cause more whiteheads. Always eat a healthy meal, and follow a diet which is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables. That will help your body's internal systems to remain clean and systematic.

You can also mix a little bit of salt in raw milk and use it as a cleansing lotion for your skin. Additionally, you can add some lime juice as well to it. With its regular use, all your whiteheads, as well as blackheads will start to reduce, and you will have a cleaner face. Alte
ately, a mix of lime juice and groundnut oil can also be used.
